Girls I'm having a little boy in June. What do you think of Angus?

I'm scottish which helps a little, I also have a little girl Bailey.

Bailey and Angus?? is this a good sib set. my mum actaully hates it which is making me doubt it

Xx

I'm not really a fan personally, but all should matter is that u like it, people will change their mo d once he's here and there's a face to the name, so to speak. I don't know many other Scottish names, Cameron or Drew?? I also really love Flynn, I think that's Scottish?? X

I love Angus and it would be near the top of my list if hubby didn't hate it so much.

I'm American, and I have to say I really don't like it. All it's used for here is Angus cattle/beef. That said, I'm sure it has a much different feel in your country. I find itinteresting how some names translate so differently. How does it feel for a child / young man / sophisticated adult / elderly gentleman? If it goes through life well I'd consider it a contender if you like it.

I don't dislike it. I do make the cattle assosiation though. I don't think its a bad choice and I think its becoming more popular in scotland

It makes me think of cattle and also the word anguish. I'm not fond of it, but if it's popular where you are from, then go for it.

I'd consider others call him Gus though, that's a common nickname... you may not like that.

I love Angus! I would have it on my list but I named my guinea pig Angus (he looked like a little highland coo :cloud9:) and I'd feel weird using it for me LO. I think it goes well with Bailey

I adore Angus! I'm not sure it goes with Bailey but it doesn't sound weird or anything, just not completely matching.

I like angus. Im also scottish and love the names brodie, harris, clyde, hamish, bruce.

Thanks for all your opinions!!! I'm actually starting to go off it a bit anyway :(

We quite like the name sonny?? What do you think??

Xxx

I like Sunny but see it as a girl's name. I have met boys called Sonny but only Sikh boys so assumed it was a Sikh name and was significant for some reason other than the name itself, but that might be totally wrong

I have a Sonny 😃, he's 8. I love it obviously, only heard of a few others xx

Re: Sonny - cute name for a boy, don't think it translates as well for a man. Can you picture The Honorable Judge Sonny ____, Dr Sonny _____, or even a boss / CEO Sonny ____ ? I don't have any full length names with Sonny as a nickname off the top of my head, though. I do appreciate that this is hard - coming up with a unique but non-made-up name that is good for a lifetime..... good luck!

I am not a fan of the names Angus or Sonny... sorry. But would pick Sonny over Angus. LOVE your daughter's name, Bailey, though!

I like both Angus and Sonny. I would have had Sonny for DS2 but DH didn't like it :( DS2 has Angus as a middle name though - didn't use it as a first as a friend was also having a boy and she got dibs on the name!

I also really love sonny, but it sounds ridiculous with our last name.

I love Angus but I'm biased as that's my son's name :)
