Annoying soap characters (UK)?

Is it me or are about 98 % of all soap characters miserable?

The happiest I saw was Neil from Hollyoaks but he died in the bus crash lol

We thrive on the misery of others, eastenders for example Ronnie finally gets pregnant she loses her LO and steals someone else's. We cannot allow a happy ending, when sometimes we love a happy ending but soap writers find it boring

Just now and again would be nice though. I found that whole Ronnie thing unfair, she had more than enough to deal with and then some more.

A lot of people don't watch Eastenders anymore, I love the Masoods cannot believe Zainab is leaving she is one of my favorites in all of soapland
