Hi girls,

As most of you know I've been accepted to take part in the Natural Killer Cell trial but I've came across another trial that's due to start in the autumn for Progesterone and thought it maybe of interest to you.

https://www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/ma2006/about/researchNews.htm

I've spoken to the Miscarriage Association this morning and what she said was if I don't have high NKC it's a possibility I can go onto the Promise Trail as it will be held in the same hospital.

:hugs:

great info, thanks. not for me as i only had one but can tell you that in poland it is a standard treatment in first 12 weeks. if you had any mms for the next pregnancy they would give u progesterone as soon as u know u r pregnant or even from the day after ovulation so it implants itself (if u know when u ovulate) or in case if u have any bleeding and tell u to bed rest until 12th week.

Thanks for posting this MrsJD. I'll have a proper look tomo xx

Nope you can request to be referred honey! Either by your doctor or gyne :happydance: as long as you fall within the criteria.

Hi babytots, don't think so I think your doctor can do it.

Phone her secretary, she's lovely here's the info, she'll keep you right:

If you want more information or just to talk about it, do contact Ruth at The M.A.. You can also contact the research team via Dr Quenby’s secretary on 0151 702 4271

Let me know how you get on.

thanks hun i just re-read the link about the nkc trial and i arent sure if when i had my rcm tests they tested for it so cant be sure if i have raised levels or not? is it standard to do this test within normal nhs hospitals. do you think they would let me do the trial even though i dont think i have been tested for it. i will definately give her secretary a ring as i am sure she can advise me more and shall let you know what she says. x

Hey babytots, apparently the blood test for NKC isn't as accurate as this. They do a biopsy of your womb at 7 dpo therefore, this is a more accurate reading

:hugs:

NKC testing (the blood tests) is not standard in the NHS. As Mrs JD says, the Liverpool trial involves a womb biopsy, so it's different.

I spoke to them briefly but the women that normally deals with it is on holiday. The women i did speak to was helpfull tho. She says that i am a perfect candidate for the programme. However she said i need a referral from my gp, im just not sure if my gp will give me a referral, as for the last few months my gp has been trying to get me my funding and referral to see a specialist in london. My funding has come through and now im just waiting to hear from london hospital on appointment date. I have had basic tests done at my local hospital and they found nothing wrong.
Do you think i should still ask my gp if she would give me a referral or should i wait untill i see specialist. Or would they not even accept me as im waiting on seeing a specialist.
I should have asked all this but the women i spoke too only knew a few details

Littlelush, print the info off and take it to your doctor, they might not be aware of this trial well not as much as your consultant will be.
