I'm on cd16. I've been using Answer ovulation test. I got an inconclusive result on one this morning and wasn't sure if it was considered a positive or not. So I had one first response opk left from last cycle. I dipped it in the same urine and got a positive. Not sure which test to trust. I got an obvious positive on the first response and a maybe positive on the answer test. Anyone else have any experience, advice, or stories with these?

I used to use the Answer OPK's, but kept getting "half positives". One half of the line would be dark and the other half would be really light. I decided to use the CB digital smiley faces one month just to see what was going on, and sure enough, the Answer "half positive" was a negative!! I've never used them again since, but I've gotten my smiley every cycle after that. I have not used the first response, but I would definately say NOT to trust the answer test!! Good Luck!

Are you charting? A temperature shift would confirm or refute any doubtful positives. I haven't used those particular brands, but when I've had doubtful opks in the past they always turned out to be negative as often I would get the genuine surge a few day later, and when it really was positive there was no doubt as the line was so dark.
I would recommend charting to be sure about ovulation. It takes a few cycles to get to know your own body, and can get a bit obsessive, but once you've got the knack it does help you to feel in control.
Having said that, you should always bd even with an inconclusive opk, just so you don't miss out!

The edge of the answer test was really dark...not even half. But the first response test I would say looked very ++. Wish I could get my pics to upload. :-( I hope the first response is correct. I go for my bloodwork on Monday to check my progesterone. Hope it's a good number!!!

Brownstag- I don't temp because I'm up and down do much at night I was told my temps wouldn't be correct. :-(

Mommyagain, that's exactly how my answer OPK's looked!. It kept driving me crazy because I couldn't find an answer on the internet... some ppl said a half line is positive, others said just an edge was ok.... others said it had to be the whole line. I NEVER got a full positive on those, EVER, but about 8 out a 12 months of the year I get pain and spotting when I ovulate so I can say with 100% certainty that since the test didn't correlate with my O pain and spotting that they were 100% wrong! Toss out the answer OPK's and trust the First Response! Good Luck tonight mama!!!

Answer brand is actually notorious for getting false positives. Dont use those!

So would you guys trust the first response? I would say it was positive. The line appeared to be the same color and intensity as the control line. The thing that gave me pause was the answer test wasn't conclusive.

I'm planning on testing again this evening and again tomorrow morning. (it will be with the answer test b/c I only had one first response left)

I would say you have a positive since the answers test was a maybe and the other test was a yes. I was using answers also and got what I thought was a positive- test and control line the same color but the test also had a half dark line. Then I looked on fertility friend yesterday and found tests exactly the same as mine in both the positive and negative gallery so now I feel sad and confused  Can you take a look at the tests below and tell me what you think. The one on the black background was taken a couple of hours after I did the test. The test line is on the green side. The top one is from FF and looks a lot like mind.

So if I'm reading this right your test has the black background. It's kind of blurry on my screen but it looks like your close. What cd are you? I would keep testing to see what you get. Good luck!!

That was on CD 13- last Sunday, it was lighter after that and completely gone today. The second and third one are mine. The first one is a picture on fertility friend that looks similar.

The second one looks darker than your third one. Good luck girl!!! :)

Just wanted to let you ladies know I got a definite positive opk on my answer test today. I suppose the first response are more sensitive than the answer opks.
