Just a little rant.... Hate hate hate having an anterior placenta this is pregnancy number 5 for me and first time having this am currently 18 and a half weeks and just don't feel hardly anything, have felt all my others so much earlier :'-( can see this being a really worrying pregnancy!! Xx

How far are you now? My first pregnancy was anterior placenta and I didn't truly/confidently feel him until twenty weeks. This time I felt my baby at 17/18 weeks and I notice on my scan documents it says anterior again. Once they are bigger and kicking more it won't be an issue I still felt/feel lots of movements x

Eta sorry u already said how far along x

I feel for you! I had an anterior placenta with my son and had trouble feeling movement through most of my pregnancy. I ended up in L&D a few times to be monitored because I would go for long periods of time not feeling him at all. Don't want to make you feel worse but just a heads up that movement might not be as obvious this time around.

I felt baby pretty early so am hoping I don't have another anterior placenta. I find out in a week!

Hi, I also had posterior first time started feeling movements at 16wks and this time with anterior started feeling at around 19wks.

Don't worry the movements start feeling bigger and bigger and in my case are now no different to first time round. X

Thanks guys guess I should just be grateful I can feel flutters and the odd stronger poke when some don't feel definite movement until now just so frustrating when it's always been posterior before, slightly more paranoid due to having a shoulder dystocia last birth and an op in early pregnancy with this 1 just have such a bad feeling all the time :-( xx

Me too, didn't feel anything until 24 weeks!

I also have an anterior placenta and it's my first pregnancy. I started to feel little odd pokes at 15 weeks, bigger kicks by 17-18 and now finally in the last couple of weeks I feel lots of strong kicks and a pattern emerging. My hubby just finally felt her a couple of days ago!

i must of got really lucky mine was anterior last time and didnt stop me feeling movement.

I had anterior placenta and didn't feel kicks until late, but by 28 weeks or soi could feel it all the time. X

I felt movement early, (this is my second and first was posterior placenta, this one it anterior) however, I don't feel a lot of movement and sometimes go fairly long stretches without feeling anything. It's a bummer. I'm having my scan today so plan to ask the sonographer where abouts my placenta actually is. It does make you worry when you can't feel much. I'm hoping as baby gets bigger I'll feel movement more often. I've had a couple of days where I felt loads and then days with feeling next to nothing. Baby seems to like kicking in my back and bum though at the moment

I felt my first very early because she NEVER stayed still. She is very active.

At the 12 week scan the sonographed commented to not panic about not feeling movements because this one was anterior placenta so likely to not feel anything so early. The baby was also very calm and relaxed in Comparison to first. I'd like a quiet lazy baby but I'm preparing myself another high needs baby because if I don't and I get one the first year will be very tough

I'm not sure if i have an anterior placenta but i to haven't felt anything at all, not a flutter or anything, i get so worried. Has anyone else not felt anything at all 18 weeks?

I am almost 20 weeks and haven't felt anything! :( it is very disheartening at times.

Mine is anterior and I feel baby all the time now at 22 weeks...I was getting occasional kick and 18 weeks that have just increased and increased. Once the kicks are strong enough it doesn't matter about the placenta, you will feel it anyway!

Second anterior placenta for me. I have nothing to compare to but I felt DD from 16 weeks and this one a little earlier. I tend to feel rolls more than pokes but I know eventually it won't make a difference, baby will kick kick kick regardless ;)

i had anterior with my first and same with this one, didnt feel anything with either until about 23 weeks

tbh im 37 weeks now and where the placenta is the movement is still muffled as the placenta has also gotten bigger

I'm 26+1 now with an anterior placenta and some days I feel her non stop to the point I think she's going to come out of my belly button. Other day's I don't feel her at all. It is really worrying and I've ended up at the hospital once but I guess she can still hide behind my placenta.

This time round is a lot different yp me though because I NEVER felt DD1 and was in hsopital every other day.

X

Anterior with both. 1st I didn't feel anything to 18/19 wks and even then I wasn't certain. Movement was so few and far between that I was only sure I could feel them once I felt it from the outside - 22wks. This time I felt movement from 11 wks. Around 14 wks I could feel a lot but from 16wks I felt less movement. My placenta is apparently high again, but I think as both the baby and placenta have grown, baby is now higher up. That said last night (20+2) I could feel moment from the outside very, very low down. I'm hoping I will start feeling something daily soon.
