Antibiotics..

I have a urine infection and the doctor, although he knows I'm pregnant, prescribed me antibiotics that in his words are "harmful to animals growing babies" but as he had no proof that if harms human children so he still prescribed them. I'm unsure whether to take them. I'd rather suffer?
