any brighton or near mums to be? x

I am just getting over the dreaded cold! I'm 50 minutes to Chichester - I had a very long labour last time so had plenty of time! I didn't even pack my hospital bag until my due date but I'm a bit casual like that. I was trying not to jinx it but was still 11 days over. I would definitely recommend popping there for a visit. I was in there for quite a while and they were brilliant! X

I missed my booking appt this week because I was so poorly with this cold. Good luck with yours today x

im due about 25th april got my 2nd apointment with midwife next friday for bloods am terrefied as i hate needles :( was wondering if anyone had given birth in brighton hospital im just curious as this is my first :) first scan on october the 19th cant wait im so excited yay

Im due on 30/04/12 and i think im going to worthing hosp but i have heard lots of bad reviews about it! Most reccomend St Richards in Chi....

I dont have my first scan date yet. x
I had my daughter in Worthing too but have heard that Chichester is much better, but I think it's just a bit far my oh works in London and he is already panicking he won't make it home in time. I think I am between 8 and 9 weeks so due around the same time. Off work at the moment as have a cold and feeling rubbish !! have my first appointment with the midwife today which is a bit scary ! How's everyone else doing ?

How wierd.... just had a call from St richards for my booking in appt. Cos im on holiday between 1 + 16 oct theyre combining my 10 and 12 week appt at the hospital. Apparently chi has 3 birthing pools and a birthing centre where it feels home-y and they can rush u through to labour ward if any probs.

I am thinking st richards is a winner for me! Would be happy to sacrifice community visits for a nicer birthing experience:baby:

I called Worthing antenatal to see if I could book my first few appts with them but they never seem that friendly. She seemed annoyed that I was on holiday!!! Sorry love.... i wont go to maui or las vegas if u dont want!!!

:dohh:

I think you may be right definatley worth a look, do you just ring and ask to visit ? x

I havent booked a visit yet. i'll do that nearer to the birth.

Im booked to go there for scans and midwife appts because they dont cover Worthing with community midwife appts.

I think its worth the travel for better equipment but I have a high risk pregnancy! :dohh:

If I didnt have any problems I would just go to worthing... Not to mention I work at Worthing hosp!!!

Yes, they do mini tours - I think they are on the weekend if I remember. I wasn't allowed to combine my booking and scan as they wanted my bloods back first. I haven't had any yet. It is worth the journey. Alternatively, you can always do your scans locally and then 'decide to change' afterwards and they refer you over. The bit you have your general appointments in is pretty old but the ladies are the friendliest people. Then the actual labour ward/birthing centre and ward you go to after you have given birth is new and fantastic! They were so lovely there. Even before I had gone in, they were talking me through early labour on the phone and gave a fantastic service. Anybody have experience of the other hospitals around? It's always helpful to share x

Hi I'm in Haywards Heath! When are you all due and which hospital? 5/5/2012 for me. First scan 24/10

Xx

Wow, we certainly have a good sized group since I last came online!

I'm due April 16th but things may change when I get my scan October 5th - I can't wait! :) I'm planning on having Beanie at the RSCH (Royal Sussex County Hopsital, but you probably know that :) ). Beanie is our first so I have no idea what the hospital is like, even by maternity unit reputation. I have my next midwife appointment next Wednesday for blood work etc.xox

RSCH is by Gala Bingo, near Brighton College. I'll check the website but it failed to load the last time I looked. Thankyou, I love this picture too! Sadly, Hannibal (the siamese looking cat) has been missing the exact time I'm along my pregnancy... It's not like him at all and, as he is so attractive, we can only conclude he's been stolen :nope: We miss him very much, he and his 5 siblings were born in our house and he's only 16months oldxox

awwwww im sooooo sorry poor kitty dont give up you may get him back still . hugs . x x x

my nans cat was stolen and someone tried to sell her my nan got her back in the end but couldnt belive someone would try to do that good luck im praying for his safe homecoming sweets :) x x

Thankyou! We hope so too! I'd like to think that, as long as he's healthy and happy and someone is looking after him, it might not be so bad... If that's the case, I wonder if they've twigged he refuses to eat cat food...? :haha: xox
