Basically, I went to clinic yesterday (i have type 1 diabetes) and there was +3 protein in my urine and my BP which is usually 90/70 was 140/90 so they sent me straight onto the ward and said that it looked like i had developed pre-eclampsia. So over night my BP came down to 100/70 (luckily) but still had protein in my urine, so they said i could come home as i don't have pre-eclampsia but WILL develope it so i have to go twice a week and to be prepared

Thats all she said i asked if baby was safe she said for now.. she was a real b**** (sorry i never swear but im so upset i feel left with no information and no idea whats going to happen?!)

sorry this was so long, really could do with some information that ANYONE has?!
Thank you in advance!

What an awful experience for you!! can't believe they so rude to you. If i were you i would contact your community midwife for further clarification. How can they say you will definately develop pre eclampsia?? Am sure your little one is fine otherwise they would not let u home xx

What an idiot! You will be closely monitored so that the baby it very well looked after. I presume you will be under consultant care and they will explain everything to you. If you feel like you've been left in the dark, just call the FMU at your hospital and explain and ask for details, etc. It's your body and your baby and you deserve to be treated properly x

A friend of mine was in similar situation. I know she was told if her blood pressure stayed within a certain range then they would do nothing but if not then she would be induced...she was monitored weekly. Sorry dont have much other info! Her pressure stayed where they wanted and she went into labour naturally!

Thank you, I just feel that it was really wrong to tell me that and not explain what could happen! Especially since the stress will raise my BP aswell!

What happens if i do end up having pre-eclampsia? im too scared to search the internet and read horrible stories :(

If you do have pre eclampsia it will be monitored closely and if necessary they will do a planned c section to get baby out safely. This happened to friend of mine and both she and baby were fine after. Do not look on the internet as you will only scare yourself xx

of course i understand what a worry for you x but better to get proper informed advice from midwife or g.p rather than the internet. Speak to them tomorrow and explain what happened and how worried you are. Good luck xx

I spoke to my family nurse as i had a home visit this morning, she was lovely as i just broke down in tears as soon as i started to explain! she spend a long time explaining everything and i feel a lot better.. she said to get my hospital bag ready just incase today so i feel prepared and other than that just to relax

Awww Hun, they can't say you will definately develop pre eclampsia... But there is unfortunately a good chance you will... But damn! They could have broken it in a nicer way to you.

Best thing for you is to just be "on standby" and let them monitor you as they wish and try to be as relaxed as possible.

I was induced at 38 weeks with my first baby with similar problems and everything was fine... I'd have thought you would need a growth and Doppler scan now to check on baby and the placenta... They surely haven't put you at ease!!!

I did have a growth scan on monday because of my diabetes and it showed he is growing well so that is good! I have been told I will be induced between 37-38 weeks because of being diabetic anyway its just whether it might have to be earlier because of pre-eclampsia now... But will have to wait and see :S
