Hi i am 26 weeks pregnant and left my job when i was around 8 weeks, i am currently claiming income support and wasnt planning on staying off work until i found out i was expecting and no where would take me on.

Just looking for advise on what to do really do you stay on IS throughout pregnancy and until i go back to work, or do you get a different type of benefit i have read about maternity allowance but not to sure what that is.

Also when do i have to inform the job centre and/or income support i am pregnant

Any help would be appreciated

yes, you need to let them know you are pregnant and I'd have a word sooner rather than later.
They'll be able to tell you which benefits you are entitled to.
Sorry can't be more specific, but hte job centre will have all the answers!
