Just wondering if anyone here as been through having a lactose intolerant baby? And, if you have, were you lactose intolerant during pg??

This is a long shot, but I am completely stumped! I was NEVER lactose intolerant before I got pg -- matter of fact, I ate more dairy than anything else. And drank only milk in general (a gallon every couple of days). Shortly after getting pg, I started to become more sensitive to lactose. By the end of First Tri I was completely intolerant!! I cannot even eat a slice of cheese on a sandwich or have ranch dressing on a salad.

This has me baffled as lactose intolerance is supposed to get better during pg! I can't find much on it developing during pg because it seems so rare. So, I am wondering if it might indicate a lactose intolerant baby??? It seemed to get worse as baby's placenta started taking over more....

I'm at my wits' end! :hissy:

Thanks, ladies!

Jacob is lactose intorlant. but im not and never have been and neither is my OH, me lil bro is tho but dont know if thats juct coinstadence.

Jacob is fine tho. As long as i check EVERYTHING for milk or milk produce. Before he was weaned it was easier as he is on Lactose free milk. But now he is being weaned im working alongside i dietition to get a nice diet for him. Only prob is ALOT of things contain milk (some things you wouldnt expect!) Like most cereals have it, rusks. Alot of the jars have it. XxxX

It was questionable on courtneys tolerance to lactose but she was on sma lf for about 8 weeks...!! She is now fine and it was just a immaturity but I have never been lactose intolerant!! :hugs: hope you get some answers soon :hugs:

I threw up every bit of dairy/cheese/milk...everything besides yougurt my entire pregnancy & we had to switch her to lactose free but she hasn't been actually tested for it. My dr told mr that intolerance to dairy prouducts is sometimes a factor, but not always. I believe being lactose intolerant affects the lower digestive tract right? I was just throwing up though

Noah is lactose intolerent just been put on pregestamil but all my others were too, but me or partner has never been x

Well, maybe there is not a link between my sudden onset of lactose intolerance and the chances that baby will be. I certainly hope not. I know it is managable, but I am sure it would be easier if he can tolerate dairy.

Thank you, ladies, for your help!
