So my name is Kellie, I am 25 years old in May and pregnant with my 2nd Child who was born by C-section on the 14th September 2012 due to her being breech. I was due for a C-section on the 24th September 2012 but went into labour on my own, they done a scan at the hospital and my little girl was still breech so I was put in for a C-section. I really did not want it, I asked if I could have a breech birth but they told me that they don’t allow breech birth for first time mums. I am incredibly anxious about the upcoming birth (I know ive still got ages) I am anxious that although my consultant and midwife are pro VBAC, I will go into labour and another issue will turn up making me having another C-section, or that the baby will be breech again.

Is anyone else going through this?

I going for a VBAC 2nd time around :)

My first was an emergency csection so I am hoping and terrified of going for a natural birth!
I am going to do everything I can for a natural birth, they are giving me sweeps from 38 weeks to help things along, plus lots of sex and walking lol

Fingers crossed for us!

Doctor said ok for vbac but doesn't allow me to go past my due date. I recently tested GBS positive, and I hesitated whether to do VBAC or RCS. I thought if I opt for a RCS, i can bypass risks like scar rupture and baby getting infected with GBS. Having said, I really want a vbac

My previous pregnancy was via csec due to low lying placenta. Hopefully little bub comes earlier.

I hope to as well. I'm actually not that worried about a repeat section, but I am really worried about being stuck on monitors the whole time and not being able to move around. I'm hoping I have a consultant who doesn't treat me like a porcelain doll because of a previous section.

I'm desperate for a VBAC. My 1st was an EMCS due to fetal distress from "insufficient pelvic space". I've had to fight for this VBAC but I hope it'll all be worth it. I'm not "allowed" to go past 41 weeks so I'm praying this baby will be easy and straightforward.

Im going for VBA3C. Dr approved it based on my previous history and surgical reports. says Im a good candidate for it as all mi incisions where low transverse. and last 2 c sections where elective, first was fetal distress (i was induced with pitocin) previous to my c sections I had all vaginal births. :)

I'm hoping for a vbac too. My consultant has said that I should be ok but last time I was induced because of suspected pre-eclampsia and if that happens again I'll be straight for a c section so praying that doesn't happen again, or that baby is breech! My consultant is letting me go to 41+5 (ish) before having a c section booked becasue we've both agreed that induction would add too much risk of rupture due to my short gap between births so I will be trying every trick in the book for natural labour as long as all looks well!

I'm not scared of another EMCS but am more worried about how I will be as my induction i was terrible and screaming for epidural within an hour!! But I'm hoping that was just becasue it was forced labour!! I'm also more worried about not being able to move around and having to stay on the bed the whole time due to monitors as that's what they did last time and I hated it!

Fingers crossed for good vbacs for us all!!

Rule #1 of a VBAC birth - BELIEVE you can do it.

Rule #2 of a VBAC birth - Don't always trust what the doctors say..

I had my firstborn via elective caesarean (I did not go into labour) due to a breech baby in 2004. I cried and cried and cried I didn't want it done and even on the day I was screaming for it not to be done but I was held down with the anesthetics and it happened anyway (My 'birth' story features on the Birth Trauma association website).

My second child was born at home (planned), despite the same obstetrician serving me death threats that IF I survived I'd need a hysterectomy and that my son would be born dead. Not one problem occurred in my 20 hour labour and he was born a healthy 7lb 8oz.
I'd wanted a home birth with my first so was determined this one was going to be a natural birth. I was told that if I went into labour and hospital, having had a previous caesarean they would continuously monitor me past 3cm and I would not be allowed to have a water birth!

My third child was also born at home (again, planned)

My 4th successful pregnancy was TWINS. I was in labour for 2 days before I finally admitted defeat and took myself to hospital. Both babies were stuck in a double transverse position. I actually had my first ever understanding midwife in this pregnancy, she said head or bum we'd deal with but they can't come out sideways.
Unfortunately this ended in an emergency caesarean, but even the surgeon had problems removing the babies as they were tightly compacted.

Now I am pregnant with just one baby I am having an unassisted home birth. No medical professional will be present because each times I have felt under pressure to comply with what they want rather than what I want.

Did they try to turn the baby with you?
IF you have another breech baby (highly unlikely) there is plenty of things YOU can do to turn the baby, check out ''spinning babies'', moxibustion techniques, positions to do in the weeks before birth to optimize the babies position etc.

Any questions, feel free to ask xx

Hoping for vbac. Ds1 I was induced got to 10 cm before emcs under general due to fetal distress. Hoping not to be induced.

Are you in the UK? I spoke to my consultant about induction and said I don't want it as it does slightly increase chance of rupture (especially with the small gap for me), and he said that's fine and quite a good approach, he agreed wholeheartedly and we have both said that if there are any issues that require baby to come early (like suspected pre-e as with my last pregnancy) or I'm overdue then I will have a c section and not induction. I also won't be put on the drip if my labour fails to progress as the consultant doesn't want me contracting for hours and hours as it increases risk so in that case I will also be taken for c section! So I'm crossing my fingers to go into labour naturally and for it to progress well so I can get my vbac!! You don't have to be induced at all if you don't want to (unless of course induction is what you'd prefer to c section if it comes down to it).

I had an induced VBAC 2 weeks ago. The rupture risk is higher than with a spontaneous labour, but I personally felt happier with a small risk of rupture than all the risks that go with a repeat c section. Waiting for labour wasn't an option for me, given my history. Just wanted to say that inductions aren't always a disaster, VBAC or not :flower:
