I haven't had a migraine in I don't know how long, then BAM! I was hit with one out of the blue yesterday evening. I'm really hoping it was a fluke and is not going to be an ongoing thing for me during this pregnancy. I know that pork products are a trigger for me so I stay away from them. I really don't know what triggered my migraine yesterday.

Is there anything safe to take for a migraine during pregnancy?

Not that I know of. I try drinking a pepsi or coke really fast. PLus a tylenol if they work for you (not for me)
GL they suck.

I get super bad migraines too and am scared to take anything. Tylenol has never worked for me so I don't even bother with it. I did read on the first trimester forum just now that someone had sever back pain and something called parcetomol??? is often used and considered very safe and one girl just had codeine prescribed by her doc for sever back pain even though she is preg. I had Vicodin before BFP for migraine and freaked out so did some searching around and have heard a few stories where codeine was prescribed by doctors for extreme pain, they say as long as it is not over or mis-used (addiction issues for mom and baby if taken too much in later months) it is considered safe. I couldn't find anything one way or the other on the Vicodin but I am still so worried because I was taking it probably right during implantation....>_<

I have underlying health issues that cause severe body pain and migraines so while at this point I am way to nervous to take anything....I am keeping the occasional codeine in the back of my mind if I end up feeling like I am going to end up in the hospital again from severe head pain. So far so good, and if I am lucky I will not have issues while pregnant since all my issues are autoimmune related. :fingerscrossed:

Your migraine could have been triggered by the natural rise of progesterone, they can cause headaches and it's a pretty common symptom.

ME! I'm just getting over my 2nd in 3 weeks! Dr said its pretty common in first tri (hormone triggered) and that the best thing to do is go and lie down in a dark room with a glass of water and and paracetamol and sleep it off. Paracetamol is a mild painkiller which is safe to use in pregnancy.
