Any name variations for Michael?

I absolutely love the name Michael. My mum had even picked this name for my little sister if she'd been a boy. However my big cousin had a little boy called Michael & he was born handicapped & died when he was 12 (5yrs ago).

As much as I love the name, I worry that it would upset my cousin if I used it as a first name. Second name would probably be ok, but just wondering if there are any name variations out there for Michael that I could use??

All I can think of is Mikey or Mickey
