Any Non-Gestational Moms-to-Be out there?

We have out early scan for Thursday 9th August when wife will be 7+5 :)

Though the doctor thinks we are a week further along than we are because wife has a longer cycle so was 3wks between last period and ovulation but we shouldn't count the 33rd week because it's normally 14days for a regular cycle and the 3rd week really won't make any difference to bub's development lol! We tried explaining it to her because we knew the exact date of conception but she didn't really get it so has put us a week ahead (clearly incorrect haha!)

You have to love knowing the EXACT date of conception! if we go by DW last period she would be a few days further along too!

At least we will likely get our 12wk scan a little earlier though haha!

Well we got our first scan today! There is only one in there, whew! Baby is measuring exactly where it should be. 6wks +1 day and ks snuggled in right in the center of her uterus. :happydance: Got to see the heartbeat! Our infertility specialist, who will also be our OB, assured us that once you see a heartbeat the risk of miscarriage drops dramatically. We have a follow up scan on 8/22 to check her progress.

AFM, I saw my Dr. Today too. Will be getting a call tomorrow or Monday to schedule my pre-ops and surgery. I am trying to take only a week off for this surgery so I can save my annual leave time. I would like to take at least a month off when the baby gets here. I am pretty resilient when it comes to surgery, only took a week off when I had muscle repair done on my abdomin so I figure this should be cake. (well other than the whole cast/crutches/walking boot part of it.)

Oh wow yay for the scan! So pleased for you! 1 week to go until outs!

We tOld our parents last night! We sent them text messages so they could absorb it as probably quite unexpected for them! Everyone reacted so well!!!

We told some of our family via text too! Mostly my siblings so we did not have to decide who to tell first. It is so much nicer when they have a positive reaction!

How is the wife MS doing?

Sickness is less vomity now but still 24/7 nausea! She can keep food and drink down now so better but still totally debilitating! She can't go in the car or to work right now :(

Hi girls!

Ok I have a giggle for you. There is this "baking soda gender prediction test" that I found on these boards. I told DW to pick up some baking soda on the way home so we could do this test just for fun. Supposedly if you take one tbsp of baking power and add urine, it will fizz if it is a boy but not if it is a girl. So I have DW pee in a cup (after all it has been a while since she peed on anything) and it start to fizz like the head on a soda. So this means boy right? Afterwards DW tells me to do it too and see what happens. So since turnabout is fair play I pee in my cup and add it to the baking soda. That thing fizzed so much it almost overflowed! Apparently I am having a manly man!

Thought I would share my humorous story with you girls.

How are you all doing? Glad to hear HP is feeling well enough to attempt to go back to work! Leah the temp is looking good so far!

I needed a good laugh this morning Kelley. Thanks for the giggles about your manly man pee. hahahah! I am having oral surgery today. I'm getting a tooth extracted and having a bone graft done in my jaw. Ooowy. Good thing is that DP is off with me today and we are going to have a lazy movie day together while I recover. I'm a girl that likes to be productive even while I am in surgery so I'm having the carpets in my house steam cleaned while I am getting my work done. We spent last night getting everything we could off of the carpepet so that the whole rooms could be done. right now my couch is in the kitchen and my TV is in the guest bathroom. LOL! I hope you ladies are having a fabulous day!

Leah good luck with your tooth!

Wife's vomit is back 5 times today already :(
Her work are putting pressure on her saying we need you back and it's only vomiting!! I'm like WTF don't they get it!?! You cnt wok and vomit at the same time. See if it was just first thing and the she felt rough fine ad could work but seriously moving is an effort and she constantly has her head in a sick bowl!!

So sorry to hear about your wife MummyPony. I was hoping she was past it finally. I am send tons of non-vomit dusk her way.

Leah good luck with the tooth. They can be a bit touchy after but over all not too bad. (so I hear, my mom has had a few

She's going back to the doctor today to see if there is anything else they can do :(

Have they given her medication already? I hope they can do something to help her. Let us know what happens!

Yes she is already on medication so really not sure there's much more they can do but here's hoping

I have been feedinf her breakfast every morning mango, strawberries or toast before she even moves and that helps a little. I think the nausea is aggravated by hunger because she cant keep much down. She can't face any of the usual things like crackers and ginger biscuits as she tried them in the beginning and she just kept vomiting them up :( my poor bunny...we reached a total of 11 times yesterday no wonder she is exhausted it worked out every 45mins or so for when she was awake!

Hi ladies!
MummyPony I am so sorry to hear that HopefulPony is feeling so poorly again. I have a holistic suggestion that you can take or leave. LOL! Find an essential oil smell that she really enjoys. For me it was vanilla, lilac, or lavendar. It can be anything mint, musk....doesn't matter. Have her dab a bit of the oil inside of her wrist. When nausea starts deep breaths inaling the smell. It "confuses" the senses. This little tip worked wonders for me when I was sicking up everything after my brain surgery. I hope it can help offer at least a bit of relief. It is a good idea to have at least a couple of smells on hand so it can be changed up too. Let me know if I can answer anything else.
Kelley, You guys are a raspberry too now!! Yay!! Your little mexican jumping bean is swinging his/her little arms and legs in there. How exciting!
My face is swollen and tender today but I suppose that was to be expected. I am not working until later this evening so I will just try to rest it and ice. Hopefully I won't look like I have been hit in the fsace with a bat for very long. DP is "not feeling well". She is sleepy and says her tummy is turning. I feel a bit awful for saying this but.... YIPPEE!!!!!! TTC has turned me into a monster. I am delighted that my Wife feels like poo. LOL! Seriously though we've only got to survive 5 more days before testing. This wait hasn't seemed nearly as bad as the others. I'm a bit more laid back about it this round. Hopefully it stays that way as we approach testing day.

So Wednesday is our next U/S. I cant wait to see how our little :baby: has grown! I am excited and nervous at the same time. She is starting to get a little bit of a bump and today we are going shopping to see if we can find some overall shorts for her to wear and make her more comfortable. She has not had MS but does get a little queasy every now and then. Her biggest complaint is cramping (stretching) and heartburn. She has acid reflux but cannot take Nexium during pregnancy.

MummyPony, is the wife feeling a bit better yet? Is she getting a little bump yet?

Leah I am so excited for you guys! Still stalking the chart. This is your month! (At least in the world according to Kelley)

PSSST!!! Leah we ve your space all ready for you over here!

Mummypony....How is the wife doing? Any better?

Awww....thanks Kelley. That made an otherwise fairly poopy mo9rning just a bit brighter.

She's up and fown, having good and bad days but nowhere near as bad as it was which is something!

10wks today!!!! Yay
