I'm only 37 weeks, but to be completely honest (and yes I know its terrible, please don't judge me), I'm trying everything I can think of to kick start labor. I'm always hearing that since it's my first, I will be late. At 37 weeks I'm more then ready! I figure if all these things don't kick start labor, maybe it will at least ensure I'm not late lol.

Anyone else trying to beat there due date?

With my 2nd pregnancy I tried every home remedy (with the exception of castor oil) to try and bring on labour and was still 2 days late so not sure how well they work.

I am due the 9th Jan this time and at the moment I'm of the mindset that the later the baby is born, the further from Xmas and the better it will be but I *know* myself well enough to know that as soon as I hit 37/38 weeks I will be fed up to my back teeth of being pregnant and will no doubt be eating shed loads of pineapple and curry again :)

I've joked plenty with DH and others that once I hit 37 weeks I'm doing every old wives tale in the book to get LO moving:haha: And now at 34 weeks those jokes feel so serious, I'm ready to be full term and get her moving already.

No judgement here! I just wish those dang things that supposedly kick off labor actually worked.

Totally normal. Your bound to feel fed up by now, I know I do and I'm only in week 32.

Once I hit week 37 I will be doing lots of walking etc but speaking from experience, I think babies will come when they are ready, my previous baby was 14 days late and boy I was fed up, but in the end she arrived safe and sound :)

In all honesty, I don't believe anything can make a baby come, they have their own little minds and will come whenever they feel like it :)

Best of luck hope things happen for you soon.

I did nothing with my first she arrived 40+4.

I did everything fun with my second she came 41+2 i had a sweep also, maybe i annoyed her.

Thing is its baby who sends signal to mum its time to be born not when mum says.

37 weeks tomorrow and I'm not wasting energy trying things this time around! My first I was told he was already nearly 7lb at 36 weeks, so come 37 weeks I thought I'd best make a start trying to evict him. I walked miles, took evening primrose oil orally and vaginally, raspberry leaf tea capsules, bouncing on my ball all the time, sex. Nothing worked, I still went over and needed a sweep.
This time I'm saving my energy! No point in exhausting myself when it will make absolutely no difference anyway.
My best advice to you would be put your feet up, pamper yourself, book some beauty treatments maybe, read a book, have long baths, see friends for as long as you want, go shopping alone. Enjoy the last couple of weeks of being child free. It will pass the time quicker to you meeting your baby and it might be the last opportunity to do these luxuries for a while.

I'm 38+2. At 37+4 (Halloween) I walked as much as I could and DTD. Did things get moving yes (both BH and contractions, back pain, cramps) but I was just exhausted all weekend. Now, I'm trying to just get the house super clean and ready for baby and company. Which is exhausting in itself. Last night and this morning I thought maybe things were moving again but I know it will be a while yet.

So yeah I'm trying to cheat, but I know it's not really going to matter. My gut is telling me induction is in the future...

35 weeks and already ready to start cheating. I've been prepping myself x) Eating a bit of pineapple-having a good bit of sex (mainly because I'm always turned on)
Going to start using Primrose Evening Oil and raspberry leaf, I'm not ready to do anything that might put me into preterm labor but I know by 37 weeks I will be.

Ive been doing everything since 37 weeks and nothing. I gave up

No judgment here as I will be the same given lo isn't here by then!!

My doctor wants to induce me and I'm terrified of the medication they want to give me, so yes I'm doing everything I can, eating dates, fresh pineapple even the core, RLT, EPO, sex, bouncing on the ball everything I can think of. I am in good health, I do have GD and HBP but I'm fine baby is fine and perfect weight not too big or too small. My ob hasn't given me a clear reason, just that she wants to induce because of my health complications but I'm going to talk to my prenatal specialist tomorrow and see what she thinks. Good luck to you! And please wish me the same. I'm hoping I'm one of those lucky ones that goes into labor on my own before my induction.

Ill be with you all as soon as I hit 37 weeks! Have any of you tried the Italian recipe that swears women go into labour within 48 hours of making it? Apparently it's really difficult to make but hey ho, if it works. Here's the link https://www.pregnancyandbaby.com/pregnancy/articles/943153/can-these-recipes-jump-start-labor I hope that works, I've never posted a link before. good luck to you all xx

I must be one of the few people who will really miss my bump! It's not causing me any major issues... It's cooking nicely and I'm not in any rush to get baby out (even though I'm really excited to meet them!).

I'm just not feeling horrid yet! I suspect I will go really late though as we are both too comfy lol

I'm 38+5 today and still very comfortable... If I do anything to try to start labor, it will only be because my doctor has been offering to induce at my last two appointments and I'd rather things start naturally.
