Lo is 3 weeks old one and we've been to the pub a few times, visit to work with h being the driver but apart from that we've been at home, lo feeds every two hours so by the time he's fed, we've had 20mibs of sitting up and cuddles to try and help him not be sick, washed the bottles had food myself it's time got the next feed !!! Whilst I'm ok with this tv is getting boring and I'm sick of being in the house :-(

We live in a village with basic shops 15 min walk (normal speed) that's to the bus stop and sure start centre too - there's no way I can go that yet and can't drive obviously - h is back to work next week añd have organised older dd's friends over on her nursery days off but am starting to feel rubbish. I make sure I'm dressed, face creams on ect, I try and kept the house as tidy as I can without overdoing it.

All friends are at work during tge week, those that aren't font have big enough cars to take us places

We are going to the cinema altogether tommorow and hope ds will be ok with the noise! I need to ring my insurance com to see what their policy is about me driving when I feel ok I hope it's not the full six weeks otherwise I really will cry !!

What are you all doing to keep sane !

From what I remember most UK insurers put the onus back on you and say your insurance will cover you if you feel up to driving and can do an emergency stop and etc as opposed to six weeks.
Personally I think this is a dangerous way to do it. You can bet your bottom dollar that if you got into an accident (god forbid) that they would try to place some blame onto you not being fully capable of driving to wiggle out of paying a claim.

For me, as annoying as it was, I waited the full six weeks and until I was fully able to move without pain.
Its really horrible if you are without tranaport for those first six weeks.
Hope it passes quickly for you.

It was mainly telly viewing & I made the most of trips out when my husband was home. Its a tough 6 weeks being stuck at home. You're doing exactly what I did having friends & family round.

My insurer said when my doctor was happy. I had an appointment at almost 5 weeks pp for something else & she just checked my scar & OK'd me.

Xx

:hugs: I know the feeling! My lo was born on New Year's Day via c/s and then we have had a terrible winter. I started getting horrible cabin fever! We have started going outside more as the temperature is rising. Haha I knew I was losing it when I would talk to the tv. I would have my DH take me out of the house even for a drive and to the grocery store. I also listen to quite a bit of music when I get bored of tv.

My dr told me at two weeks pp I could drive or by the time I could lift my leg without pain. I didn't start driving until one month pp. now we go out every other day or every couple days. I'm so looking forward to summer and walks outside with lo!!

I remember the cabin fever was really hard for me too. I live on a farm in the middle of nowhere with nothing but country lanes with no pavements or shops. Have you got any family who could visit or perhaps take you to their house for an afternoon so you have some company? Can your OH take you put for a drive every day, just so you can have a change of scenery? My OH hardly took me anywhere as it was harvest time and he was busy working. It's obviously important to still try to take it easy, as in not carrying a car seat about or lifting a pushchair in and out of the car. I do feel for you :hugs: do you have a garden? Perhaps wrapping baby up and sitting in the garden to get some fresh air could be nice?

Wow, completely different here. I drove the week I had my csection. I wasn't taking and meds or pain relief and never had any issues.

I am one week post Csection (2nd csection in 21 months) tomorrow (Friday)... Luckly I've only been told I can't drive for 2 weeks, BUT, my insurance company has no claus about this (I live in Canada)...

I feel you on the going insane. I have a toddler at home so I feel a little usless when I can't help out with her. I've been doing some light house work though and trying to keep busy in my down time. Just take it easy and don't push yourself..

I'm 7 weeks pp with my second child and second c section. This time around I've found my daughter's cabin fever gives me cabin fever! I felt like I'd have been fine around the house if it wasn't for DD climbing the walls and complaining.

I started driving at 5 weeks this time. My insurance company said it was fine once my doctor said I was ok. I rang and spoke to doctor over the phone, he basically just asked if I felt up to it and then said ok.

Even though you're not in reach of shops can you go for some gentle short walks? At 3 weeks pp I was going probably 20 metres up the road and back slowly. But at 4 weeks I made it to our local shop which is half a mile round trip - took an hour lol! Obviously don't push yourself but a little fresh air will do you the world of good. Now at 7 weeks I'm feeling pretty spry with walking, though I'm still noticing I'm weaker than I think when I try to do things like opening jars etc.

We've been to the pub a few times , out to my cousins and to the cinema - however he's back at work next week so I'm left to myself ! Yes I have a garden but it's a mess at the moment - need to straight it all out so it would actually look nice to sit out there !!

I have both kids in my own on Sunday , maybe if the weather is nice I will walk to the pub, it's 5mins away and the closest thing I can walk to as a start maybe then see how I go with the shops another day

I don't drive, but luckily we have buses to go to a lot of different places just outside our house. OH was home for the first 2 weeks on paternity leave & we did a few trips out to the shops & the park, then my parents came over from Australia when lo was about 10 days old for a month (they also did a trip to Europe in that time for a week too), so I was with company most of the time.

I was fine walking around from day 1, I was a little slow to begin with, but by the end of week 2 I was fine. I did keep on taking pain meds for about 4 days after leaving hospitl (however I was only in hospital for 2 nights!).

I too had crazy cabin fever after 10 days in hospital. Our first trip out was to the supermarket 19 days pp, which is 30mins walk away. As long as you are taking your pain meds and feel up to it, have a walk. The '6 weeks rest' rule really isn't practical for most people imo.

I'm now 13 weeks post c section and just wanted to say it does get better I am back to normal now!

I just invited friends and family round and got them to take me and baby out, even if its was just to the supermarket. I also organised myself a little timetable to get out and about at 6 weeks post c section so I has activities lined up.
