Hi everyone. :hi:

How you all feeling?

I'm feeling awful, I'm feeling sick all day every day. I haven't been sick, I wasn't when I was pregnant with me son, I was the same then, just felt permanently sick. It's awful, I'd rather just throw up and get it over with. And the worst thing is that with Finlay it lasted until the end of month 4, so I just know I've got at least another two months of this.

Has anyone got any tips on things I could do/eat/drink to calm it down?

I've tried things like ginger biscuits, which work but not for long (and I can't eat them all day!!). I also am trying to be careful not to eat too many sweet sugary things as I had glucose intolerance (nearly diabetes) with Finlay (I think it was cos I ate so much rubbish when I was pregnant with him as it was all I could stomach!!).

So any ideas will be much appreciated!

Thanks ladies x x x x

You could try other things with Ginger in the, i.e Ginger Tea, Chocolate ginger, ginger cake etc......you don't have to have lots.

But the main thing that should help is......

Eat 5 or 6 smaller meals a day rather than 3 bigger meals a day and make sure they are packed with protein, that should help keep it at bay.

Thanks, I'll give it a try!!
Ginger tea sounds like a good idea as it wont be sugary.
What's good for protein that I can eat as a small meal??!! I'm useless!! :dohh:

I found that ginger didnt work to well, but I guess its different for everyone!

The thing that worked best for me was mint imperials, and I dont know why! I figured that I felt a bit better after Id brushed my teeth in the morning and I thought it might have been the mint and it was! So maybe try that if all else fails?

Hope you feel better soon, I know how horrible it is!

small and full of protein? urm... sardines? ham? chicken? baked beans? cheese? left over roast beef?!

I've found eating helps. I get sick when i get hungry. so i'm eating like a trooper!

I think I'm the same, feel sick when I get hungry, but I don't fancy eating anything.

Mint is supposed to be good so I might try that. I'll go get some packet meats from the supermarket and try nibbling on them, I can do beans so I'll get lots of them too!!

I've just been to the shop and bought loads of really sugary unhealthy snacks but they all appealed to me so I don't care!!

Coco pops, bagels with Philly, scotch pancakes, mini apple pies and ginger cake......... mmmmmmmmmmmmm..................

At least apple pies have fruit in them :D

and bagels and philly are full of calcium!! add some sliced tomato and wham! No Guilt!:happydance:

High in protein:

Milk
Soy Milk
Eggs
Cheese
Yogurt
Lean Meats, Fish, and Poultry
Beans, Tofu, Lentils, and other Legumes
Grains, including bread and pasta
Nuts and Seeds

Eating more often will stop the nausea, or atleast help it, but packing your diet with protein also helps even more.

here in canada, we have a drug called diclectin.
it has saved my life! seriously, when I would usually feel so crappy (6-7 weeks) I would wake up with so much energy and no sign of morning sickness.

I don't know if you have it in the UK. In the states, I think it is Zophran, if I am correct.

You should def ask your doctor about it.
Perfectly safe for the baby and why suffer if you don't have to?

Saltines and ginger ale worked great for me.
