Any TTC #1 taking Vitex? Let's be buddies!

Hello ladies,

I just joined this forum this week although I've already created some other threads. I have been TTCing for about a month now. I just started taking vitex per recommendation by my fertility acupuncturist. I will be starting acupuncture treatments in January. I am not infertile nor do I have any diagnosis. I have strong baby fever so this is my way of trying to help my body relax and start getting ready.

I have irregular periods and I've researched and found many great things that vitex can do for fertility and irregular cycles. I am just looking for some TTC #1 buddies who are also taking vitex to share stories and experiences with.

I started the vitex about a week ago so it may be too early to tell any significant changes. I have noticed a little bit more CM though! I may look into buying Preseed just to help things along. I don't want to do too much too soon though.

How is the Fertilitea? I was thinking about buying some last night actually! Does it taste good? Thanks for the post

I've used the preseed the last 2 or 3 cycles. I was taking clomid the last 3 cycles bc I have PCOS, but 3 times was my dr's limit before they wanted to move onto IUI which I'm just not ready for. The clomid definitely dried up CM so the preseed helped with that for sure. I'll probably continue to use it around O just as an extra step. Hopefully my tea should get here today, I ordered it from amazon so I'll let you know how it is! I was thinking of taking vitex pills in addition to it... Think that'd be overdoing it??

CD99? Omg, I can't even imagine! Mine was 41 last cycle and I thought mine were long! Lol
Have you noticed the vitex helping at all?

truthfully I have not noticed a difference, although I feel like I have less CM.
Ya CD99 is horrible. My last one was 118 days. I came off the pill in April and everything is crazy since then. I am feeling very discouraged in TTC.

My OBGYN said to wait until April and at that point they would run tests. I have had blood drawn 2x and came back fine. I feel like pulling my hair out.

Yeah, I can imagine that would be very frustrating! April is a long time to wait when you really want something! But in all honesty, it probably is worth it to wait anyways just to see if your body can regulate itself rather than pumping yourself full of meds. I tried clomid for 3 months and it really messed with me. There were a lot of side effects. So just be patient and hope for the best! : )

what were your side effects? were you able to conceive? if not, what is the next step?

My sil was told she would need clomid with trigger shot, then iui, then ivf. She conceived naturally 3 months later!

It seemed like it really just mimicked pregnancy symptoms so it was really frustrating. And no, sadly I never got a BFP in the 3 months on it. My dr doesn't want me to do anymore unless I do it with IUI which I'm not ready for. It's just not how I imagined getting pregnant. So I'm going to try this natural route for a while and see if I have any luck. And yeah, I've heard of so many getting pregnant after being told they'd have tons of problems, so I'm hopeful!

They wash the sperm and pick out the good ones and then it's pretty much the turkey baster insertion after that. All at the low, low price of about $1,500. Lol

I just started taking my vitex again on friday, so almost a week!!

When I took it before I kept forgetting and missing doses for days... so I never saw any effect

So hoping I see a benefit this time as I'm being very military about taking it now!!

I'm cd7 of a 38 day cycle so hoping the vitex will shorten it by a few days

My tea came last night so I started drinking it. It's not bad at all. I'm not a hot tea fan so it wasn't great, but definitely bearable. I put my cup in the fridge this morning to see if it'd taste better chilled.

Rachel- I definitely want to try everything too. I just want to try the more natural routes before I take expensive, drastic measures. If it comes to IUI or IVF I will definitely try it though. I've actually already asked my BFF if she'd ever be a surrogate for us, if it came to that of course. I hope it doesn't, but at least I know there's options.

MrsWillis- welcome! I know you said it's only been a few days, but have you noticed any difference? Are you going to use OPKs to see if it pushes up your O date? My cycle is normally about 33 days, so I'm hoping it'll cause me to O before CD21!!

I know it is way too earlh, but i started using OPK's yesterday.. Got hundreds of the damn things so it's cool

Obviously nothing yet, but hopingto see if it brings O sooner

What kind of vitex are you girls taking? I'm taking the capsules, but only have about a weeks supply left so thinking on ordering the liquid as have heard good things about the liquid?? More potent and quicker acting than the capsules maybe

I wasn't sure I fit in here since i'm not taking pure vitex, just started the Fertilitea 2 days ago and saw someone else had also it's quite mild and very drinkable, I have to force myself to stick to 3 cups a day so I don't go overboard

I'm trying to kick my cycle a bit, at the moment I O around CD21 and have a 10day LP, here's to hoping for an early O am taking EPO for CM too which I think is helping already!
