any1 ovulating ok but been given clomid?

Hiya...

I have been diagnosed with polycysts on my only ovary ( had 1 removed as a baby as it had cysts on) & was told that i would prob be put on clomid. I had some bloodtests which shows that i appear to be ovulating ok. I am having a HyCoSy in just over a weeks time & then going bk to see the fertility specialist on 22nd October, husband as got to repeat his sperm test before then as it showed low count & motility 2 mths ago. Ive been reading on a few websites that clomd can still be given even if you do ovulate as it can increase your chance of conception...is this correct. It said that it can make you produce better quality eggs & more of them. Im a bit worried that im not ovulating every mth ....i have done opk's for 6 mths & they show an lh surge on day 19 every time but apparently you can get surges & still not ovulate. Its all so confusing hey! hope some one can help as dont want to be fobbed off when i see the specialist as we would of been trying for 14 mths then & time seems to be flying by!!

Hi there, I am ov and got clomid. I am on my 3rd tablet of cycle 1.

I had an ectopic and only have one tube so my gp prescribed to increase the chances of ov from the good side, as I only have one tube.

I am really excited. My gp prescribed to aviod waiting for the fertility referral.

I think I had a +ve opk but never ov last month, however I think I generally do (have had a few scans post ectopic and have seen the egg popping out).

thanks for your reply......i hope my specialist does put me on clomid when i see her in oct...if not do you think i should go bk to my gp & ask for it? would they not say no too? i would love to be able to see my egg 'popping' out, at least id know it was def doing what it should be lol! Please stay in touch & let me know how you get on with the clomid...how exciting for you

You could try your gp? I am lucky as I have a very very sympathetic gp with an interest in fertility. I used to have a gp who thought yoga was the key to fertility.

She was happy to prescribe it, and in actual fact it was the locum that physically wrote the script as my usual gp was on holiday.

I would at least have the conversation with the gp, maybe ask for cd21 bloods to be done as a starting point. That will confirm whether you ov or not. I do ov and get +ve opk but I dont think my egg popped last month, my temps were a mess.

It was fun to see it, I didnt actually see it pop, it was just ready to go, and sure enough 12 hours later the ov pain started.
