anybody worry about their toddlers development?

I dont worry about it, at that age things should all be play things not learning alphabets and shapes. *alex does pick up on William these things as we go to some sites he likes to learn from* Plus every child learns different. I just wait till they older and understand more. Dosnt put them off learning either. And for progressing different some kids will do stuff before others, some after it dosnt mean your child is behind. By the time they all get to 4 or 5 they mostly are on same level. Same with walking, poeple used to ask why my children where not walking at 8 months old and they walked at 14 months old. Just go with your childs pace and relax.

Don't ever think u are failing him as a parent!!!! All kids develop at different rates and comparing him to other kids who are maybe doing slightly better( more than likely bragging parents) will do u no good! I will give u an example of different development of my 3 kids- my daughter (1st born) was talking fluently by around 18 months ,my son (2nd born ) wasn't talking properly until he was probably about 4 because he wasn't that interested he just wanted to do other stuff and my youngest son who will be 2 next week is only really over the past 2 weeks started saying a few words here and there, he understands what u are saying to him and will follow instruction but just doesn't want to talk on other people's terms. Like I say all 3 completely different same parents same household different milestones reached at different times but he will get there he will probably be taking it all in them all of a sudden start talking, so please don't worry too much and don't think you are failing because u are not x
