i been given these (doxycycling) but dont know why tbh... prob as precaution but they seem a strong dose. anyone had these?? are they ok? or any antibiotics xxx

i would think its just as a precaution because it was a slight surgery.. and they dont want to risk infection.

Ive been 'googleing' to try and find you why you mightve been given these but cant eally find much on it tbh.Like has been said they are probably just making sure that there is no chance of infection after the surgery hun. Thinking of you at this difficult time hun ,hope you are taking it easy x x x

Hi hun. Sorry for your loss.
I had these about 3/4 days after D&C as they suspected an infection as my pelvis was slightly inflamed. the doctor said he would give me those as they were one of the strongest and would fight off any chance of an infection. I only got them as went to GP due to pains, after the D&C itself I was only given iron tablets.

Hi,
I was given anti biotics (Augmentin) 5 days after ERPC because I had an infection, but I've also heard that some Hosps/Dr's give them straight away 'Just incase'.

Probably a precaution 
I didn't get AB's right away, but I started bleeding heavily & passing clots several days after my ERPC & that can be a sign of infection, so I've just finished a two week course of augmentin.
Most people have hardly any bleeding or pain after an ERPC btw, I was just one of the unlucky ones!

I got them and now have temporary arthritis and a rash. I know thats not what you want to hear. I got taken off them last night. Everyone is different but I feel lousy on them. I hope you are ok. XX
