Anyone do split feeds? (half feed before/half after bedtime bath etc.)

Does anyone do these?

Am wondering what the aim is? Is it to get more food into the bub because they'll eat more across the two feeds than in one feed right before bed? Or just to tide them over until the last feed? Or another reason?

Our LO is always hungry at 6pm, just before his 6.30pm bath and 7pm final feed. This is the case even when he might have eaten at 4.30pm already. Pondering if his (loose) routine needs adjusting, or if this is just evening cluster feeding.

hi

i sometimes give him half before top and tailing himand then the rest after. only because he seems cry a lot when being washed and having a bit of the bottle before makes him content and the rest after calms him down

I split Isobel's last bottle because she can't the volume of milk all in one go. So I offer her a 7oz bottle before bath, have bath, then rest of bottle and then bed. Works really well for us

I'm breast feeding so it's a bit different but I would always feed Thomas before his bath and then again after his bath even if he's not actively looking for food after his bath (although he normally is!). I think it gives him the message that it's time to settle down for a longer sleep as he generally sleeps for about three hours after I put him to bed, whereas during the day he doesn't normally sleep for more than one or two hours.

I'm breastfeeding and split most of her feeds. She'll have one side (the good performing one) when she wakes from a nap then the other (the lazy boob) just before she goes back down to sleep.

I'm just never sure she has taken enough on one side but doesn't like immediately switching to the other one.
