Im currently doing traditional weaning and was wondering if any other mummys out there are?

What is your LO's food diary like? Looking for ideas xx Thanks xx

Hi...

My 10 month old has a bottle then some porridge for breakfast, she eats around half a jar for lunch and then for dinner she'll either finish her jar or I'll try her with some finger foods.

When I started I just tried porridge for lunch, then moved onto porridge for breakfast and a stage 1 puree for lunch.

I am starting to introduce more finger foods now though like scrambled eggs and toast or a fish finger!

I am :)

I really wanted to try BLW this time just to see what all the fuss was about but I was told to wean him at 5 months due to weight loss and therefore started TW. I did try switching to BLW at just before 6 months but it turns out my poor heart just can't take it, I panic every time he gags so I've abandoned it and stuck with TW :haha:

Wesley gets baby porridge with a fruit puree mixed into it every day for breakfast

lunch, I try to always give him finger food for lunch so he can practice eating and because I don't think he really needs a meal at lunch time so I don't mind if he just plays with it. Today he had some scrambled eggs and toast and a fruity rice cake for "pudding". He sometimes gets sandwiches cut into strips, slices of tomato or soft fruits like strawberries or banana to suck on etc

Dinner is always puree. I make everything myself and freeze it. So far he's tried chicken casserole, beef stew, pork ragout, fish pie, ratatouille, pumpkin soup (for Halloween! :) ) then sometimes he gets a bit of fruit puree for pudding too.

We're tw. At the moment Maisie has dinner at around 12. Tea at 4.45 and then bottles are at 8, 11, 3 and 7.30. We arent on breakfast yet but when we do I'll mix up a cereal with her first bottle of milk then give her the rest of the bottle after. She has mixed veg for her dinner at the min (potato and carrot, sweet potato and parsnip and apple, broccoli and potato and peas etc) and then fruit for tea (apple and pear, banana etc). So far so good, shes taking to it really well so far xx

My ds has yogurt for breakfast and I mix in a fruit puree (since I had left overs in the freezer and he won't eat purees anymore) and toast, also with puree spread on top. For lunch he has a teething biscuit and a cheese stick. Dinner is cut up veggies

Thank you for all of your replies..i feel reassured that I am doing the right things x

I'll be doing tw when she's ready, for me the messy fingers in the puree and all over baby's face is just the absolute best part of it, isn't introducing them to pureed foods important though I mean it's just that way they're exploring every texture food has to offer a baby that's blw will skip straight past that and miss out on it, oh I'm getting excited just thinking of all the fun and mess were going to be having :) x
