Anyone else actually looking forward to the budget thingy tomorrow?

So the newspapers were right about the rise in VAT to 20% then!
I though it would as it went down by 2.5%! They are obviously making up for that!

Would he have mentioned scrapping free school meals, free swimming in this? Or is it just a little thing, to be mentioned later?

I think its all been extremely fair so far. Luckily it wont affect us too much. I guess 20% VAT is a lot, but then it could be a lot worse - we could have local taxes for items like in Canada.

increasing the tax allowance!

higher rate tax payers will not benefit

he says that usually the poorest are hit hardest and its been a mistake and they are going to be different

Oh david cameron is right behind him but you cant see him!

basic state pension will be guarenteed increase every single year for pensioners

increase child element of child tax credit to help low income families

HB IS max £400 a week... that's ridiculous!

How is that ridiculous? some people live in mansions and get housing benefit of £1000s

Just seems ridiculous that people can be given £1600 a month towards a house. That's got to be one fancy house!

thats the point though.... its a massive reduction.... some familes were claiming like 10k a month to live in a mansion!!! and our old government were happy with that lol

in some areas of london you'd be lucky to get a 3 bedroom place for that!

buts its still a major imrpovement
