Anyone else have an arcuate uterus?

Hey,

Have recently been told I have an arcuate tilted uterus...anyone else in the same position and either pregnant or TTC?

From what I have read online, it doesn't seem to be a huge problem for getting pregnant- although my dr did say that it is associated with 2nd trimester losses but that the findings of the studies weren't generally accepted in the medical profession.

Bascially it means there is an indent at the top (see the V on mine?) - However, Im also wondering whether the sides of my uterus are 'horns' like in a bicornuate uterus as they seem quite different to the 'normal' uterus picture...see the side bits of the uterus?

Ive attached a picture of my uterus (arcuate) and a 'normal' uterus.

Any thoughts? Does anyone have a picture of their non-pregnant uterus we could compare? Weird request, I know lol

I have a 4 1/2year old by my ex!!And I had no trouble at all getting pregnant by my ex:-/ I think we weren't even together but maybe two months and we weren't trying of course. I had a very healthy pregnancy too with my son!!! However I just can't seem to get pregnant again we've been trying for almost two years and to tell you the truth its crossed my mind that maybe my tilted uterus could be the problem?!? Because you know since I first started having sex I never really used condoms alot and took the pill for maybe a month, im very lucky and happy to say thank god I've never had no stds or got pregnant at 15years old! I was still young when i got pregnant however i was 18 &19 when i gave birth but all these years and no protecting ,and I've only been pregnant ONE time I've never had no abortions or miscarriages noting idk are you using anything to ttc?

Im wondering a similar thing (altho I have been pregnant but have had two miscarriages and no successful pregnancies - sadly I had an abortion when I was younger but that was at 6 weeks and I wonder if that pregnancy would have been successful or if it would have ended in miscarriage like my others...).

These last two months Ive tracked my Lh surges and havent had any success with getting pregnant...before that in April, I was accidentally pregnant but miscarried twins at 6 weeks and 9 weeks...

I think I read on line somewhere that if you have a tilted uterus missionary and lying on your back doesnt help, you should actually be lying on your stomach for the sperm to swim up...mind you, my partner and I rarely have sex that way so that's obviously not my problem.

I havent started using anything...yet... just the opks...but im seeing women on here raving about preseed...but as far as my partner knows we're 'Not trying, Not preventing' and meanwhile theres all this action going on in the bathroom while Im 'trying'...I just didnt want to stress him out...my last miscarriage was hard on him - so i dont know how I could whip out a bottle of preseed and suggest using that as lube without him wondering whats going on!

Have you asked for any scans or anything? How old are you (if you dont mind me asking ) After a year I think I can ask for help from a dr as Im over 30...Maybe ask for a referral to get a scan to see the lay of the land?

Ive also seen online that you can buy a testing kit to test your partners sperm...im thinking about how i can delicately whip that one out lol

Well im only 24yrs old so you know my age shouldn't be a problem at all!! Also you can put the pre seed in the bath and insert it before sex just tell him you had to go pee and do it lol.he'll never know it feels like natural cm im sorry about your miscarriages and everything else!! I just been Prego once and I have a 4,1/2 yr old I think I told u that.and I want to see a doctor but my insurance sucks so id have to come out of pocket
. I just can't afford that right now!! .also we do every position I duno I'm thinking i ovualte Aug 11th so iam 7 dpo af due tomorrow im gonna test Tuesday if af hasn't come i really hope u get ur bfp

Not sure if you will see this or not, but your pic doesn't look arcuate. There should be a dip, and yours looks straight across. I would have the test done again if you aren't already pregnant.

Yup me too!
Mine is tilted slightly back towards my spine but not only that, apparently I'm longer than average inside and my cervix sits quite high.
However, I've fallen pregnant 5 times, carried 3 babies full term and given birth to all 3 naturally - the only slight problem I've had regarding my womb is when it comes to labour, every time I've had to have my waters broken (with all 3) or needed a sweep, then they can't reach where they need to so easy. One midwife actually had to request that another try - she had longer fingers

Thanks for your reply-still not pregnant-do you think my uterus looks 'abnormal'? I will be asking for more tests in April...that's when I will have been trying for a year...

No sorry I don't have scan pics that show the full uterus, only part pics of it were printed off due to a minor problem I've got with calcification/scar tissue in my womb from a previous pregnancy.

So sorry you're having difficulties Melanie but April's not so long away and if you're still not pregnant by then they can fully check you over and advise you. Keep trying though, you never know. Fingers crossed for you x
