I am having a small one this year. Darren's told me not to get him anything (xmas & xmas eve birthday) but I am just not going overboard although with boots 3 for 2 & finding other bargains/discount codes the value of the present will actually be near double that. Actually looking around already this year has saved my mental list hundreds!

Hallie's clothes are getting cut right down. The past years she has been in full designer and last year for just Christmas/boxing day clothes was close to £450 inc coat & boots. This year I got boxing day's outfit from Debenhams in the 10% off ted baker. for a grand total of £27 :happydance: Then she has a Kenzo outfit & hat for Christmas day but to keep costs down her two coats, boots and hat, scarf gloves are from next this year and I have for 2 coats for the price of half of last years coat :) which still fits- double bonus :)

£300-£400 does sound like a lot but it isnt really, not when you are buying for a 13 year old :( Dans Xbox is £250 and he wants £100 for clothes, so theres £350 gone already, plus I want to get him some cool trainers he has been asking for so that could be another £70-£80, then he will need games for his xbox !! I am no seeing that Dan is going to be alot more than £400 and tbh this is nothing compared to what he got last year.
Dec wont be as bad, his DSi is only £159 thats with 2 games, then he just wants some lego and hotwheels, which will be about another £100-£150

So as you can see although they are both getting very little, it is still going to cost ALOT !!! lol

When you look at it that way, its not actually a lot :haha: Christmas and birthdays get more and more expensive the older they get. Ive spent well under £100 on Olly for Christmas but he will only be 11 months and his toys dont cost too much.

I agree about the expense as they are older, I want to get Hallie a pink flat screen for her wall to play dvds & music which is £120 straight away out of her budget! :(

Dec was suppose to get a tv this Christmas but he got so upset that Dan got one last year and he didnt we bought him a flat screen/dvd during the year :dohh: Then he will have a bike, roller skates, puzzles and some hotwheels for his birthday which is only 7 weeks before Christmas !!!

I'll be spending around £150 on her for xmas.

And her bday the week before im aiming to only spend £50 MAX. Already got her a table and chairs and easel. so its just books and bits and bobs left.

Going to try getting creative for family gifts this year..

another one here guilty of buying a tv in May randomly for Ruby :(

Yeah i was saying this to my OH, everytime we say we spend 400 quid on xmas pressies our parents look at us gone out.. i keep trying to explain that its likely the same as when their budget was 150 quid 10 years ago! lol they can't appreciate it because they haven't seen the price of toys. its all about cars 2 in this house right now, but the diecast pack of cars 2 figures (the little metal ones) is 50 quid alone! x

where is everyone else buying their Tv's from i want a flat screen for Lukes room, think 19-22 inch don't want to go overboard, wanted a red one but seems impossible, its always easy when you have a girl tho pink is stupidly common EVERYTHING comes in pink lol x

My son picked up the monster truck pack last week thinking it would be a tenner and it was nearly 30quid!!

We are role reversing this year. It sounds selfish but since Tegan was born, Christmas has been all about her and we've not had hardly anything because of that. We're getting her a new tv/dvd combi for her playroom and probably some clothes and that. Nothing like the last few years though, for her birthday we spent well over £500 on TOYS alone and she has loads now. She also had her bedroom redone for her birthday.

I would like a new camera (DSLR) and a chamilla or pandora bracelet :) I'm not sure what my OH wants but she'll find something :D

I thinks its shocking they can get away with charging so much for them :/ x

Also ... does anyone know why i can't get hold of the old lightning mcqueen tv the flatscreen one in the shape of mack?! i should of brought it in argos clearance beginning of the year, because the internet keeps telling me it doesn't know what i'm talking about, and amazon says they no longer have it ?! is it just out of circulation, also no-one is selling on on ebay ! :(

Am i the only one who will give a toddler second hand toys :/ There's no way i am forking out for toys to be ignored, plus i just simply dont have the money and like to re-use?

Sabby, my children's budget is £400 for the exact same reason. Morgan is getting an xbox 360 and they cost a fortune but I did get it from PCWorld (dunno if you have that there) and it was £299 for the xbox 360 250gb, kinect, and four kinect games, so I think that is quite good. I only got it last week so might be worth a look if you do have pcworld there.

Rhi are you talking about this https://www.jmartdigital.co.uk/item/lcd-televisions/disney-cars-19-lcd-tv-with-integrated-dvd-player

I think so but the link didn't work .. there was no pic or price lol x

I just put cars tv in google, went to shopping and it was at the top but clearly it is crap and they want £255 for it  but I just wanted to know so I can keep looking for you :flower:

We already have the Kinect hun, Dec has an Xbox and Kinect, so now Dan wants one of his own  The one I saw in game was Xbox 360 with one game for £250 which I though was fab

Keep looking about hun, like this offer is £189 for xbox 360 250 gb and halo (not sure if that is suitable but there are probably other games) https://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/micr...50gb-bundle-with-halo-reach-10388076-pdt.html

wow 300-400?!
i only spend 100 on each lol
but i get small pressies so they have loads lol

300-400 small budget??
Than my budget for christmas must be tiny.
Even my mum and dad never spent that much on us when we grew up... They only spent between £50-100 per child if that.

my parents only spent £50 on us at xmas (there is 7 of us!)

we will be spending £150 - £200 on toby this year x
