Hi Girls
I was made redundant just before xmas and asked to work through xmas then I would get paid for 3 months (til March) I found out in January I was pregnant so thought that there wsa no point in looking for a job as I showed straight away
Just wondered if anyone else is also around the 20 week pregnany mark and not working and what do you get up to in the day/ the week
My husband works full time and I was the bread winner in the relationship earning big bucks but now the niggest amount I have earnt recently is off ebay for bits and bobs!

Me. I'm a housewife/stay at home mom. I don't have any orders from dr's to not work but also the fact is that hubby wouldn't let me work now anyways. He would not hear of it! He barely lets me do that much around the house here. I'm just very blessed to have a great loving husband that takes good care of me and loves me and this baby so much. :cloud9:

Hey I usually only work pool(so whenever i want or need to.) but since 12 weeks i was told I can't work. We have two lil ones so I was obviously busy! lol. But yesterday i went into ptl and now on complete bedrest.....so all i get to do is LAY around......:(

I say go shopping lol, take nice walks, clean, crochet, scrap book?.....

Well I am currently suffering with Sciatica so just going for a walk kills me! The most I manage is a slow stroll
I do have a daily/weekly routine...consists of getting up around 8.30am, having coffee and bowl of rice krispies (I cant get enough of rice krispies!!) then logging onto the papers online, checking my ebay auction stuff, watching a bit of news on tv then around 10.30am I have a quick dust up of the house and hoover (we have three cats and they can be quite messy!)
Take a trip to the shops for a wander around, post ebay stuff or post bills etc
Back for lunch around 1pm - usually sandwich, fruit, juice and crisps or little tea cake (made 20 fairy cakes today)
Depending on day ( like today) I had a complete bleach of the bathroom, cleaned it top to bottom, put clothes washing out / away / ironing etc
Then on MOndays (today) and Wednesdays I have aqua natal at 6.30pm and Friday I have yoga

Hi gals,

I'm not working...lost my job in November so someone else could keep theirs...I've been looking for work since then, but the economy is so bad here...I got pregnant in January, and wasn't really that worried about finding work, but...I'm starting to get scared now cuz I'm over 3 months, and I'm afraid no one will hire me...and if I don't work, I don't get maternity leave, and we just won't be able to make it on OH's income alone!

I spend most of my days looking for work (and cleaning!)

I'm at college if that counts? 3 full days a week (although right now there are tutor strikes so it's only 1 day a week!).

Ds1 is 7 and at school then care club 5 days a week. Ds2 is almost 4 and at nursery 5 full days a week.

Mon, Tues and Thurs - college
Wed and Fri - on my own till about 4pm when I pick the kids up

So, weekdays it's up at 7.30am, get me and the kids ready for school/college/nursery, back home at 4.30pm for dinner, bed the kids at about 7.30pm and then some tidying up. My days off it's usually just housework or doing stuff for our sandwich shop (my parents run it) or maybe going into town (it's respite time for me, DS2 has cerebral palsy so I don't feel that I have to spend time doing housework). Weekends we try and do something fun especially if DH is off work. I haven't mentioned him as he works shifts so we never know if he is going to be at home or not!

I just moved out to Arizona from North Carolina in Feb. Been putting in applications online, havent heard anything back from them. I want a part time job, my boyfriend is in school full time so sitting around the house gets boring. But i have just recently been put on moderate bed rest at 17 weeks of pregnancy, so im afraid i wouldnt be able to work. Or that it would be unfair to the employer that i wouldnt be reliable. Who knows. Right now im in bed or on the couch, with my laptop. I cant wait to get off bedrest

hiya,

i havent worked for 7yrs since i was pregnant with my eldest. i was really bad with my back and on bed rest for pre-eclampsia, i left b4 they sacked me. i havent looked back since.

obviously i have the kids to keep me amused and do the housework as and when. i spend time on here and on the family tree forum, i started tracing the family history after eldest was born. on good days i go out even if its only a walk around the estate. if bad i do x-stitch or read etc. shopping is also another past time!

Hi Girls

I'm not working too due to ill-health - SPD so have been at home since the 6th January. I was so bored to begin with as my day consisted of doing the school run then back home, surf the net then school run again, cook and get ready for more school run the next day. I tried to rectify this by begging my doctor to allow me to work 2 half days which he agreed to but my work sent me back home and said that it wasnt safe to be at work (am a lecturer) and that the students could get boisterous and knock me over on my crutches so it was back to school run only again. I am now really used to it and spend my day on line either on forums or watching programmes I missed on BBC Iplayer or Channel 4 on demand. I have so many Come Dine With Me's to watch and they surely keep me busy...........sad comes to mind lol

I don't work either and if I did I would've quit as soon as this baby is born! I really don't want to miss anything and am looking forward to being a stay-at-home mommy. I clean alot to keep myself busy and because I'm just an obsessive cleaner. I also love to read and scrapbook and cross-stitch. But I'm sure with this new baby, I won't have as much time for all that.

Im disabled and can't work, my partner is my full time carer so we get to spend all our time together, which in a way is a blessing really :D We keep ourselves busy doing various things... He is a budding author and writes lots, we both go online lots (we have family all around the world so lots of catching up to do all the time!) I like to knit, but can only manage tiny bits at a time due to my dodgy hands! Lately, we've had regular scans, so we've never felt bored with so much to think about and prepare for with little one on the way! I'm keeping a pregnancy diary, sort of like a scrap book, I think that's a fun project to keep you busy! We also have recently got a new dog, so OH is kept very busy walking him 3 times a day, which he adores! I try to go on some of the walks too, as well as doing lots of physiotherapy at home (for my disability and pregnancy as well).

Hi to all you stay-at-home mummies! :D

Shadow xx

I lost my job at the end of March and havent found another one yet. Hubby and I go on holiday on Monday and by the time we get back I'll be 20 weeks, so I'll be lucky to get employed then!! Luckily I've worked enough to qualify for maternity allowance, which I'll be able to get from 29 weeks, so if the worst comes to the worst, I'll have the summer off to potter about the house nesting!

I was on a course and awaiting to join the Police when found out pregnant ...so thats had to take a backseat for now unfortunantly. Im not working - ive looked though but iam getting on and to be honst its very hard to find anywhere who would take on someone at 22wks nowdays.

I tend to just socialise lol and shop , it is rather boring at the moment but i guess its my last bit of me time before baby is here. xx

i lost my job at the end of november, due to cut backs, this was about 2weeks before i found out i was pregnant, at first was looking for a job, trying everything, i am signed on to job seekers, but have had absolutely no luck what so ever, no one is even replying to me!
and now i look obviously pregnant, ( have done since about 14 weeks) if i enquire in person about anything they look at me like i am stupid,
i know theres no point trying now cus im not gunna get anything before baby,

basically spend my days looking at baby stuff, buying baby stuff, walking, swimming, going to the cinema ALOT, and messing about online,
have completly lost my social life since becoming pg :/

I dont work as such. I dont have to leave the house to earn money. I am not signing on or anything. I sell ear candles on line which tides me over and I rent my house out which brings me in a bit of an income.
I am just lazy. I hate working. I was training to be a driving instructor and did that on a trainee licence for a while.. I loved it- it wasnt like work at all.
ANyways the trainee licence since expired and the training went by the wayside since I found out I was preggers.
I hope to get the qualification at full under my belt before august but the motivation is just not there.. especially when I can live off what I am doing. AND i pay my half of everything in partners house anyways.
I would like to think I am in a good finacial position. OH hasnt given me ANY money towards baby things cos he dont want it and dont wanna ask him. I would like him to offer but there is more chance of hell freezing over! lol

so all day I am either online.. shopping for bits and bobs, going to find bargains at boot sales and markets.. posting my earcandles or just at home cleaning!
Partner says this is one of teh reasons why we are not getting on- cos we are in eachothers pockets. I try to go out when he is home to give him some 'me' time but there is only so many places I can go!
