I had all these lovely ideas of how I was going to spend the time before baby arrived - was going to go for a manicure and pedicure, get my hair done, cook loads of meals to full the freezer.....

In reality, for the last 3 weeks my spd has been so bad that I can't drive and I'm now struggling to even walk about the house. Im not sleeping with the pain so I'm exhausted and I'm spending most of the day in bed with a hot water bottle. I'm scared of being on my own when I'm in labour so I spend all day counting down the hours till dh comes home from work and panicking over every twinge.

Sorry for the pointless rant!

Hey it's not pointless :) im 5 weeks off mat leave and already spending most of time 'resting' and sleeping , rolling over in bed seems to be the worst pain at the moment, and without my support belt I can't even walk about supermarket! I haven't got spd and I'm struggling with the pains so you have all sympathy-hope the water bottle is helping some :)

Hey, it's not pointless at all and I am feeling your frustrations :hugs: I was very excited for my mat leave and like you had all good intentions, but just feel so bored and like a sitting duck waiting for 'something' to happen!! Fingers crossed it isn't too much longer now :flower:

Thanks ladies! P lily we are due on the same day :) here's hoping we both don't have long to wait!

Yay, I know... I'm totally fed up of waiting and feel like each day is a day wated of my mat leave that I could be spending with my LO :nope:

Good luck with your labour :flower:

I am extremely bored!! This is my second week off now and I have everything done that I wanted to get done and now feel useless. I'm lucky as I have no pains or anything and can still move around with relative ease, I just get a little tired after walking around after a while. I feel like I could still be at work, although with my job it's a little unrealistic, and feel like I'm just wasting away!!

I have no idea how people don't go to work (asides those who physically can't obviously) as I'd be so bored being sat in the house all day!!

On a plus side, I finished my Xmas shopping today!

Xx

You are not alone! Feeling very much the same. Even had a little cry on the lounge yesterday cause I feel like I'm in limbo-land... bored but feel too tired to do anything.

This is my third week off - I had to leave work early than I was hoping for but I'm so uncomfy I don't know how I would of kept working.

I had all these plans to cook lots of new things and to make sure we eat a nice homecooked meal everynight - But I have found myself on a few nights calling DH to pick up take away on the way home

If I could I would spend the day soaking in a warm bath. But with 3 other kids that is impossible to do. The only thing that works now is telling myself it won't be much longer. That and I plan on sneaking in either a 12 pack or a cube of pepsi into the hospital with me in my hospital bag. Bad I know, but if it helps me to be able to eat solid food sooner, why not?

Petalin- I am keeping our local takeaways in business!! You're not alone!!

Chasemanzmum - what does the Pepsi do?? I have packed isotonic sports drinks

Well 1 cause I am having a c-section. And for 2 it has been a forbidden drink for me (yet I love it sooooooo much). I figure the carbonation will help the gasses in my stomache build up till I burp or the other way. If I have proof I passed gas somehow then I can eat solid foods. Instead of 1 or 2 days of a liquid diet (which was the kind of diet I hated and not eatting really killed me). Plus I am chowing down as much as possible without making myself sick on thanksgiving (given it is the thursday before my c-section which is the monday following it). And if they have me come in at midnight, DH always makes sure he takes me out for as much a meal as I can before the cut off time.

Oh bless you hun, Today was my first day on maternity leave. My cot mattress was meant to be delivered today and just went onto the tracking to find out that they had "delivered" it at 9am.... i have started in all day, was awake since 8, and we have two dogs so they ALWAYS bark (or howl) at the door bell. So annoyed.

Could you get a mobile beautician for some pampering hun? Im having a pedicure and neck/back/shoulder massage next week. gives me something to look forward too. You should do it too! It might will even help your spd :)

Me too I'm so bored! Booked in for induction in 7 days but ready now! And no nesting too lazy to do anything! Plus my hubby is away for work! Wah!

I'm very jealous of you ladies on maternity leave - I'm 38 weeks and still working full time and scheduled to work past my due date so have a million things to do and no time to do them. I've stopped even cooking when I get home from work cos I'm just too exhausted and the house is stressing me out as I'm too knackered to keep up with it all :(

How about getting some library books and passing the time reading?
