I've been told the deepest part of my amniotic fluid is 7cm.

Is anyone elses low? Did it cause any problems?

Thanks x

mine is 7cm as well, was a bit worried as thought it was supposed to be between 10 and 20. midwife said not to worry though. they're not planning on checking it again, has your midwife said they'll keep an eye on yours?

It really hurts everytime the baby moves and though it could be because there's not a lot of fluid, does yours hurt as well?

i was advised at 33 weeks at a scan tht i had really low fluid but they didnt seem to concerned they just advised tht i would feel more intensed kicks from lil one an if i had any problems to go bac to my midwife apart from tht lil one was healthy an active xxx

Yes mine really hurts, especially if I'm lying down the need to turn over!

Mw hasn't said anything but I will be checking on Monday when I see her!

Will of course let you know :)

I have been told that among other issues it could make baby go way past due date :(

I found out at 28 weeks I have.. And it is decreasing each week, following the 3rd centile. I am being monitored really closely, I have a trace at the hospital twice a week and growth scans weekly were they check the fluid levels, babies growth and blood flow through the cord.

I don't understand how they measure it to be honest, but I have been told 13cms is the normal level, mine was at 10cms today. I don't know if that is all of the pockets added together or the deepest pocket?

I've been told it is very likely baby will be here earlier than expected rather than late!
xxx

how confusing! It's so difficult when there are so many different opinions on things- will it be here early? will it be here late? who knows.

how deep was yours at 28 weeks then?

I know each PCT has their own policy for things but seems a bit weird that in some places they monitor you, and others they are not bothered at all. i had a scan at 28 weeks as i had leaked water. they haven't really said anything about it since- i was in for 2 days as i had high white blood cells, but they didn't mention checking again to see if it's low, or if you can increase your fluid levels. confused.

Me! I im just bordeline with my fluid - That was one of the resons it took 3 attempts to get a 4D scan pic! They couldn't get a pocket of fluid between his face and the placenta so she measured my fluid and said I was borderline but it was nothing to worry about xx

It is VERY confusing!! I have been told different things by different doctors. Today she said low fluid can be a warning sign for future problems, which is why they have to keep monitoring me. At 28 weeks I was told 13cms was the cut off point for 'normal' and mine was 12.9cms. At 29 weeks it was 12.6cms. Today at 30 weeks 10cms!

I don't believe the way they measure it is very accurate at all. One consultant said I wouldn't be able to increase it, another told me I could by drinking lots of fluids. Stress........

Will definitely be having a word with my midwife and seeing why they're not monitoring it. :(

I would hun.. I do believe they are being overly cautious with my monitoring, it seems a bit extreme but I am not complaining. But I think they should definitely check on it again for you xx

Ive had this my last 2 pregnancies. This one is not so bad I have been 'borderline" between 7 and 10cm for the most part. My last pregnancy I was found to only have 2cm and was put in hospital for a week then induced and my daughter was born small and with a lot of lung problems. However this time around its not as severe and I actually have a very large baby on board so its looking like the "lower" fluid hasn't bothered him. But due to my history last pregnancy and how fast my fluid dropped (from a 7 to a 2 in a matter of days), this time around I am getting fluid checks every week and non stress tests twice a week until i deliver..

if your deepest pool is 7cm then theres nothing wrong with your fluid level. only if its you afi thats an overall 7 thats when its bordelineing on the lower side. mine was 7.8cm when i was 20 odd weeks but crept up to 10cm by 26 weeks xox

That must be why I'm having so much monitoring then and you aren't. My overall AFI is 10cms .. Which must be all of the pockets added up. So if your deepest is 7cms that would seem good in comparison xxx

Thanks babybump! Have u been having monitoring? I'm happy to see you've made it to 35 weeks.. :)

ive had no more scans since 26 weeks where my afi was 10cm and in there eyes that was nothing to worry about so ive had no more scans xox

Oooh I'll ask my mw at my appointment on Monday if it's my deepest pool or my afl

am having a 4d scan next weekend, anyone know if they are able to check it then?

I would imagine they would check it. Even when my overall fluid was measuring 7cm they weren't that worried to be honest. Unless its 5cm or under they don't see it to be a problem. I suppose it depends on how far along you are aswell xox

I had a 4d scan and they did the babies measurements but not the fluid. If you ask though they might do it xx
