Nope. I get Maternity Allowance and I've managed to pay towards the bills and pay for all my bits on that.

I'm going back to work in a few months for 3 days a week so I won't be financially dependent. I like being independent financially. BUT if OH earned more, I'd be happy to cut back my hours even more and stay at home more.

I'm currently on mat leave but we have a joint account anyway.... I'm going back to work full time so I have my own money and can help bring in the income again. If you're only working a few hours, surely you can't be expected to pay for everything for you and LO?? I'd have a word with your partner and just be honest, failing that if you don't like to ask, up your hours for a little more money? X
