Anyone from sheffield??? need some toys store and meadow hall advice

hey we live in skegness so have decided to go to meadow hall for xmas shopping

so i looked ans seen we need to go to either 1 of 2 retail parks (drake-something and cant remember the other ) to go to either toys r us or smyths.

so basically which is the better to go to, im guessing both are big stores - we need to buy playmobil and sylvanian families stuff mainly

also im aa route plannered it and they seem to be the same distance to meadowhall and well really in the same place are they???

oh 1 last question is there a next oulet anywhere near?

Hiya! I'm originally from Sheffield

There is a toys r us at meadowhall retail park which isn't far from meadowhall at all. It's just a mile or two from meadowhall

The nearest next outlet I can think of would be Doncaster, at the outlet (I think it's called lakeside?) I don't know which way you would come from Skegness but if you come down the m18 it wouldn't be far out if your way.

Smyths is in the Crystal Peaks retail park I think. TBH I would go to both

Also, neither Smyths nor Toys R Us Are actually IN meadowhall - Toys r us is in the meadowhall retail park which is a separate bit away from the main sprawl of Meadowhall, and Smyths is not in the main bit of Crystal Peaks either. Sorry if this confuses you OP

Ya i know we'd have to tracel to both. Were planning on going to 1 of the stores on route to meadowhall.

Any preferrence or are both stores pretty much the same??

I'd say they're pretty much the same. I personally prefer Toys R Us but that's because to me Smyths feels a bit like a massive warehouse not a shop.

Drakehouse retail park is (I believe) an "extra" bit of Crystal peaks. I think it's easier to go to Toys R Us

Hi i live in Doncaster so i know both the places!

Meadowhall is great for getting kids stuff! big argos, big mothercare, early learning centre, and another big toy shop, a disney store and baby shops, there's also a big next store, its a nice morning/afternoon out.

Instead of turning right into meadowhall, follow the signs straight on for the cineworld and you'll see the retail park on the left with a big toys r us! or there is one at Doncaster Lakeside, there's also a Next outlet there.

by the looks of things were going to go to donny lakeside then on to meadowhall. is the next clearence good or am i going to be disappointed???

I find with next clearance it's hit and miss - some days it's great, some days it's full of crap

Hey, if you're coming from Skegness you'll get to Drakehouse first. Meadowhall is a good fifteen minute drive from gifted there, especially with the traffic around the shopping centre. Mradowhall retail park is just up the road from M'hall. Personally I prefer Smyths but I know what you mean TM about it looking like a warehouse, I just really don't like Toys R Us. There's also The Entertainer in M'hall which is often good for deals. Though I would say to anyone I ever met to just stay away from Murderhall cos it'll just drive you mad lol. It's just a pity Sheffield town centre is so bad for shopping
