Hi

I saw yesterday that UK midwives, along with NHS staff, are going on strike on the 13th October for 4 hours from 7am. Just my luck that my 12 week scan and antenatal appt is at 10.30am that day so just within the window :(

I'm waiting for a call back from my midwife to find out what happens in this situation. I had a miscarriage in June at 7 weeks so am incredibly anxious to get to my first scan and am praying that it doesn't get put back by much.

I do wholeheartedly agree with them going on strike action though, as long as women and babies are not going to suffer as a result. Our nurses and midwifes should be paid what they're worth, which is more than they are currently getting.

Anyone else going affected by this??

I must have missed this!! My 24 wk growth scan is on the 13th October - it's not til 12.30 but surely they can't refuse to see all the ladies who are booked in on that day in them 4 hours?

I rang my hospital today and they said as far as they were aware my appointment will be going ahead as normal. Phew!!
