Anyone had pain in love handle/flank?

I've had this ache for about 2 weeks now, its a dull pain and its right in my love handle, above my hip. All i can find on google is kidney issues, but it isnt constant and i feel like if it were kidney then i would be calling the doc by now! Although i do feel the urge to call, i just dont want to bug them over small stuff i guess. Its irritating and painful but not horrible unless i do tons of activity. Has anyone had this? I have had lower back issues since 9 weeks and I'm wondering if it has to do with that, but its in such a weird spot, I've never had pain there before.
