Hi,

This is my first medicated cycle after 3+ years of trying and 3 losses.
The doctor prescribed Clomid 100mg, as well as Estrogen, but after cd11 scan showed that it did not do the job properly, she suggested I try Puregon shots. It did help my follies to grow to a decent size and I had two ready to trigger on cd15.
I believe I o'ed on cd17 and I'm now 10DPO.
I also tested out the trigger and got bfn yesterday. This TWW is literally killing me. I think I'm going to test tomorrow.

Anyone has a success story with the same kind of treatment? (I'm also on progesterone pessaries).
Thanks for sharing your stories.

hey

I had similar but not exact treatment it wasn't Clomid but the same type of medication just a different brand I'll try to remember the name later, no injectables except the trigger shot. we were trying 14 months first monitored cycle I just Had a cyst no follies so that was a no go, second monitored cycle I had no cyst and a nice follie so triggered but sadly no bfp my hopes were so high but no. decided it was all duck or no dinner so booked us in to confirm Ivf dates so ahead of us was a third month of monitoring, a break month (Christmas) and den Ivf. third month of Clomid scans trigger monitring wasn't really bothered cause knew we were probably heading for Ivf but you guessed it got my bfp! I didn't feel any different and genuinly wasn't expecting it despite trying. I was also on the progesterone tubes (horrible things!!)

so not exactly the same story but v similar and not an immediate happy ending but it did work for me but everyone is so so different my sister is on her 5 th year of trying and her 6th iui and nothing.

good luck Tho, will cross my finger and toes for you x

Thank you very much for your reply. It is very encouraging.
It did kind of worked for me, but I had a chemical. :(
The doc suggests I have a break for 2 months and then we'll see what treament I'll take if no bfp until then. I am only on pregesterone cd16 to 25, and afterwards too if bfp.

Trying to relax as much as I can and get busy too.

Thanks again and congrats on your pregnancy. I see you haven't got long to go now!!!

Hey

Why are you on clomid have they said you were not ovulating this last few months etc...? or is it just to boost the eggs?

Has your partner been tested? The reason we were told we needed IVF with icis was because of DHs SA it wasn't totally bad but they said it would take forever, on top of that they discovered I wasn't ovulating despite having very regular periods. I changed clinic and consultant turns out the first one hadn't a clue and was useless apparently it was a clear as day I hadn't been ovulating. 2 months after starting at new clinic I got my bfp. We were advised to do 3-6 months of the clomid, scans, trigger shot - just incase but really we were heading for IVFicsi in January. I honestly don't know who, what, when, where or why it just happened that month but I am so grateful it did. I remember when we started ttc reading stories of women who were 9+months trying and I thought omg can you imagine it never crossed my mind it would be me struggling. Now I do read stories and think my 18 months of ttc were trivial in comparison to people who are 3,5 even 9 years trying but then I remember how awful and useless and helpless I felt, we wanted a baby long before we ttc but had other stuff in the way so it felt like so much longer then 18months.

Did you have any trouble ttc your DSs?

I have pcos, I have been diagnosed when ttc #1, that's why the doc prescribed clomid. When I chart my bbt, I can see that I do ovulate, but quite late in the cycle (lately around cd29, but it can be as much as cd75!).
Actually it was kind of nice to have a normal, shorter cycle. But the meds are quie exhausting.

It took 2 years to conceive ds1 and almost no period in the 6 months before he was conceived, and 6 months for ds2 (I was on a diet before I started ttc and took epo and flax seed oil). This is the longest I have been ttc so far.

I was seen back in the uk, but the doctors didn't find any reason for rpl, and I don't qualify for fertility treatment either because I already have 2 children. They didn't think a SA was necessary either (dh did one way back when ttc #1 and it was all normal).
I'm actually in Algeria (dh is algerian) and saw a private gynae there. Because I saw her just at the beginning of my cycle, she did not want to waste it and started me straight on the meds. Because it has half failed, she ordered a SA for dh. He hasn't gone yet though... Hopefully next week.

I'm going to ask one of my bnb friends - she was ttc 2 years with pcos and really irregular cycles what she took, she is now 4 months with twin. Ye sound v similar. I'll come back to you!

:)

Hi I've got a 3 yr old who was conceived first try with no problems..when she turned one we started trying again, to cut a long story short we conceived naturally 5 times over 2 years ( hubby worked away too)...but unfortunately each pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks exactly..after lots of bloods every kind of test, everything came back normal..so we changed our specialist, did injectables then a trigger, and an iui..then took two pregnayl (HCG) shots day 5 and 10 after ovulation aswell as progesterone and Clexane injections daily for 13 weeks... I'm happy to say I'm now nearly 30 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy xxx hang in there it's totally worth all the heart ache xxx

Thank you banana. Please do ask, I'd really appreciate any other input.

Thank you too kezmama. Your story sounds so similar to mine too.
Can I ask what the 2 more hcg injections you took did, that progesterone only wouldnt do?
I'll be on natural cycles till september, I'll be taking progesterone after O till 14dpo. And continue if bfp. The doc said to take from cd 16, but I havent ovulated yet (usually cd29 for the 3 natural cycles).
Congrats on your pregnancy, it's great to see some positive outcome. It's hard to see it when you're in the middle of ttc and don't see the end of it.

Happy and healthy few-weeks-left to you two!

Please ladies do update when you have your babies, I'd be so pleased to read your birth stories!

The pregnayl tells your body that your pregnant so it gets all nice and cosy incase there is a fertilised egg, almost tricks it!! And lucky for us there was!!!
The Clexane is a blood thinner which is supposed to help with miscarriages too!!! Apart from bad sickness this pregnancy has been good no bleeding or problems xx I'll Definately update xx good luck xx
