Anyone had Success of getting preg with Metaforim and pcos

Heyy Everyone!

I feel like i need a little bit of hope. Has anyone got pregnant on metaforim who have pcos? I feel like im getting no were.

Anyone with success stories?

It didn't work for me, but am now 1dpo after first cycle of clomid. I have spoken to a few people that have got preg on met though - the lady that did my trans vag got preg on cycle 3 of met. x

Yes I did, however I was only on Metformin for a few weeks and then conceived. My doc says that it was very unlikely that the Met actually did anything as it does take some time to work. I did take provera as I had skipped two periods which maybe flushed everything out and forced me to ovulate? Guess I will never know. I had been TTC for nearly five years so still can't believe how lucky I am - for more info check out my post in success stories...........wishing you the best of luck TTC hun!

haha another Surrey bird here - but I am at Royal Surrey.

I don't know what I was thinking with my earlier example - I have pcos and I have a child!!! I got pregnant with NO help, so you can definately do it with meds!!!

Hey, yes, it worked for me! I have PCOS quite badly where my left ovary is being eaten alive!! lol!! i was told i didn't have much hope of ever conceiving. I was on metformin for 6 weeks at a fairly low dose when i conceived my little boy. I keep telling myself all the horrible side effects will be worth it if it works again, i am hopeful but still need a miracle again! xxx

hi i was never on metformin but i was diagnosed with polycysts on my only ovary last june i had a hycosy to check my only tube was clear which it was then they decided to boost my ovary with clomid....50mg days 2-6......

had a lap & dye on 3rd feb 2010 ...all clear....& very happy to say got my bfp on 20th feb which was 4th cycle on clomid!!!

i was devasted when i heard i had polycysts on my right ovary last june....i had my left one removed as a baby & altho i have a little girl who was 4 i kept thinking she must of been a miracle & i will never conceive again!!....well im 9 weeks pregnant with #2...dont give up hope!! xx

i have been ttc for a year now, been on metformin 850mg twice a day for 7 months. no luck as of yet. started straight on the 850mg, had horrible nausea for the first 2 weeks but i worked through it, saw it as a practice run for morning sickness.

Had laperoscopy n hysteroscopy mid nov 09, had AF for 1 week. She arrived again 26 Dec and stayed put until 25 feb 10

AF turned up again 24 march, and went yesterday so stayed for 6 days. am so happy! was my first cycle in 13 years!

I am gonna ask my consultant for clomid when i go next, as had no joy with metformin yet

I have PCOS and just got my first BFP last month! It can happen! I was on Metformin, and had just up'd the dose to 1000mg per day, but I was also on clomid because of my irregular cycles! Stay positive and try not to get too stressed! We had taken a couple of months break and this was our first month back at it and it worked!

How strange is that i am a surrey girl. And my hospital is st peters!

I think the metaformin is regulating my cycles, as my last period was the 28th of feb, and i have had boob pain and period pains for about a week and a half now so fingers crossed!

fab news it is regulating your cycles, fingers crossed we get our bfps with just the met and no further intervention needed xxx

i am on metformin 1500mg a day to hopefully regulate my cycles as i have not had a period since coming off birth control on september and have just had my period induced by provera. I have been on met for 4 weeks now. when did things start changing for you all? has any of you been sucessful on met?
