Hi all,
I moved to Woolwich (part of Greenwich) a little over a year ago and have not met many people since I arrived. I'm due in a little over 4 weeks and want to find other like-minded mums due around the same time as me, to meet up with and see if we get on!
If you live in the Greenwich / Woolwich area and are in a similar position, or simply have space in your life for a new friend, then let me know!

[I'm 35, was a teacher of kids with challenging behaviour until a little over a year ago, I now work as a freelance copywriter and as a baby growing mum-to-be! I'm English, lived in the Southwest for most of my life and enjoy lots of different activities and hobbies (including crafts, active stuff such as swimming, walking, cycling and watersports). This will be my first little one and we can't wait!]

Due date 28-11-11 :flower::baby::kiss::happydance:

I was in a similar situation when my daughter was born. It wasn't until she was a year old that I found parenting classes. It introduced me to many of my best friends today. See if there are parenting classes in your area. Where I live (Phoenix), they separate the classes by the child's age so everybody is going through the same thing at roughly the same time. Not only have I made many friends but the teachers are amazing and have helped me be the best mom I can be.

Hi Liljol

I think I live quite close to you (Plumstead/Woolwich) and I am 35 and also a FTM. I am due in February, so not exactly due at the same time... I am working full time in central London but open to meeting up after work. Send me a message if you are interested.

Hi Liljo

I can't send you a vistor message as I have not posted enough.... I will be busy posting now :winkwink:. I work in Human Resources. I can see you are nearly there and due date is getting close. Are you going to Queen Elizabeth for the birth?

Hi, really good to hear from you! I will be going to QE, yes! I wanted the birth centre at Lewisham but went last week (36 weeks pregnant), got cleared by the consultant only to be weighed by the birth centre midwives (fully clothed and shoed btw) and told that my bmi was 'borderline. So I'm at the QE, had a look around yesterday and got a little freaked out by it's clinical-ness in comparison to the centre but they can offer a water birth, which is really important to me.
How about you? When are you due? I'm finding this last 3 weeks to be strange, emotionally, some days I feel incredibly calm and peaceful and feel I could ride it out forever, others I'm completely hormonal and irrational. It's a strange time!
