Anyone induced successfully from having waters broken?

I am due to be induced on thursday (if nothing happens naturally before) and the doctor at the hospital said if I am favourable they would try initially to break my waters to start things off before going down the drip route.
Has anyone else had experience of this?
I was induced with DS but was given the pessary in the evening then set up on the drip the next morning, they didn't attempt to break waters until several hours after contractions started.

I was induced with ds by having my waters broken I couldn't have the pessary as I was having to many tightening. I had my waters broken at 11 the mw thought I'd be a while before I had any contractions so went for a meeting, by 11.20am I had my first contraction my son was born at 8.40pm so not at all long for a first labour!

W/ DS they broke my waters (i was already 2cm dilated but it was going slow) within 20 minutes I was getting extreme contractions 2-3 in a row but within 6 hours it was all done
