My OH gets about 7/8 hours of sleep a night uninterrupted. Goes to bed around 10 or 11 and is up @ 6:30am
He is able to fall asleep immediately. He often falls asleep in the day (not at work, only when he is at home at weekends). He physically cannot keep his eyes open.
We are watching tv together, we are talking about the show or something, I'm mid sentence and he's fast asleep. I wake him up straight away and he starts sleep/dream talking to me. He falls into REM sleep as soon as his eyes are closed he's dreaming.
He's a nightmare and it winds me up. He does this literally as soon as he sits down after getting in from work.
It's also very difficult to get him up in the morning. He sets his alarm for 5:30am but he snoozes till about 6/6:30am. And again, he starts dreaming as soon as he closes his eyes after snoozing his alarm.
I've Asked him to see a doc but he reckons he needs more sleep! An adult can function perfectly well on 6-8 hours sleep a night. He gets way more sleep than I do so not sure how he thinks I'm coping.
There's more but it's late and I'm tired
Does this sound like a form of narcolepsy?
