My OH gets about 7/8 hours of sleep a night uninterrupted. Goes to bed around 10 or 11 and is up @ 6:30am
He is able to fall asleep immediately. He often falls asleep in the day (not at work, only when he is at home at weekends). He physically cannot keep his eyes open.
We are watching tv together, we are talking about the show or something, I'm mid sentence and he's fast asleep. I wake him up straight away and he starts sleep/dream talking to me. He falls into REM sleep as soon as his eyes are closed he's dreaming.
He's a nightmare and it winds me up. He does this literally as soon as he sits down after getting in from work.
It's also very difficult to get him up in the morning. He sets his alarm for 5:30am but he snoozes till about 6/6:30am. And again, he starts dreaming as soon as he closes his eyes after snoozing his alarm.

I've Asked him to see a doc but he reckons he needs more sleep! An adult can function perfectly well on 6-8 hours sleep a night. He gets way more sleep than I do so not sure how he thinks I'm coping.

There's more but it's late and I'm tired :haha:
Does this sound like a form of narcolepsy?

im sometimes like this tbh. sometimes on the bus i feel my eyes shutting on their own

^^As above but in the car (obviously not driving).

I just think that each person needs different amounts of sleep. I also find it hard in the mornings and I don't get up until 7.00am, I usaully go to bed at about 11pm. Again I'm usually asleep within minutes and normally have 7-8 hours of interrupted sleep.
:flower:

I think most men have narcolepsy :haha: my OH is just like this and it drives me mad!
He does work long hours though so I have to cut him a bit of slack, but I get up earlier than him and once I am awake, Iam awake!

Sounds normal to me, really :) I wouldn't worry. Must be a pain for you though when he falls asleep when you're talking to him!

My oh is very much like this, I think it would be concerning if he just literally fell asleep anywhere and anytime, ie at work etc i would be concerned it was something serious but if its happening just at home I would guess he is just tired.

It does happen a lot but he forces himself to stay awake at work.
He's holding the baby one minute & the next he is nodding off, still holding LO!!! I have to constantly poke him if he's holding her. Especially at night.

Not sure Hun, but my dh has been diagnosed with sleep apnoea (temporarily stops breathing in his sleep) he snores real bad and often makes these horrid chocking noises, also he is knackered all the time ad falls asleep at the drop of a hat. Does your oh snore? Maybe get him checked out for any sleep disorders xx
