Just wondered if anyone had any stories or knows of people falling pregnant after a miscarriage>?
And why would you be more fertile>?
I had my 2nd m/c last week, one before that in April.ttc our first since june 09.

I'm sorry for your losses mandy

I heard the same thing after my miscarriages... people consoled me by telling me that fertility increases several months after a miscarriage. I thought it was just one of those things that people say but I wanted to hold out hope anyway. So I did some googling and found that there is cause to believe that a woman would be more fertile after a miscarriage because of higher progesterone levels in her system. Progesterone is what supports a pregnancy and proper implantation. When you become pregnant your progesterone rises and after a miscarriage it takes awhile for the progesterone levels to return to "normal".

I never confirmed this is my DR but it is what I found while I was looking around. I had an early miscarriage in January after trying to become pregnant for 10 months and then fell pregnant again pretty quickly in April, unfortuately that also ended in micarriage.

I'm in the 4th cycle since my last miscarriage and I'm starting to lose hope on that extra bit of fertility now. :(

I wondered what science this was based on too, so thanks for posting! It took me 8 months to get pg the first time and 3 months the second time, so perhaps there is something to it. Now if the next one would just come quickly and stick around!!

hi, i think it really depends on what kinda of miscarriage you had and how it ended.
When I started ttc, i got pregnant within 43 days after my last birth control pill, so really fast. but that ended up as a missed miscarriage and I had to go in for a dnc and allow my uterine lining to heal. The embryo had also implanted abnormally, leaving my uterus wall at a very critical 3mm thin. So after the dnc, the doctor did mention that due to my condition, i should wait 3 months before trying, because the chances of a miscarriage again is very high. So I waited about 3-4 months, we did try in one cycle but no luck, but now, exactly 15 weeks after my dnc, I'm pregnant again and this one looks really good. I got my BFP much earlier than with the previous pregnancy. With my previous pregnancy, I had nightmares every night about losing it and it did happen. But with this one, I am taking it very relaxed and no worries at all, no more nightmares thank goodness!
but then again, the chances of miscarrying increases drastically after you hit 35 years, so maybe go and see a doctor to find out the cause. Good luck and fx-ed for you bfp!

thanks girls,

I am 39(no children) ttc for 15 months took us 10 months the first time and then 4 months after our last mc. we had been to see a private fertility specialist in august but had the bfp few weeks later( much joy a free baby!!), though our elatedness only lasted a weeks , so kind of in limbo now, need answers regarding miscarriages so that'll take a few months till all the test results are back.
This is a fantastic site, so many other people on here with similar issues, its a real help knowing that we are not alone.
good luck girls xx
