Anyone know the reasons for drastically changed period while on the pill??

So iv been on the pill since I stopped bf my two year old a year and a half ago.but this month my period was at least three days late,and I did not feel it was coming at all I usually get that very obvious period pain cramping leading up.when it did start it was extremely light.its the second day today and I went without a pad all night,and this morning (TMI SORRY) there would usually be a pool of it but there is probably a quarter of the amount, same as the tampon showed very little from ALL day yesterday .
So sorry this has turned so tmi!!
So my question is what could cause such a drastic change in period?i will be back off the big pills and onto the ones that stop the period in a day and iv had practically nothing!no pains,hardly any bleeding At all. Any insight would be much appreciated

All I know about the pill is that the period you have during the week break is not an actual period but breakthrough bleeding from not taking the pill that week. As you have not ovulated there is not much for you to shed to periods on the pill are generally lighte and less painful x

Thanks Hun.i have been on the pill without stopping for 1.5 years so its funny it would change so much now !im not even sure I would count this as a period there is so little.pretty much not even enough to go on a pad only visible when I wipe!

strange!.... Could it be implant bleeding maybe? I fell pregnant with my LO on the pill. Some pills need you to take it the same time each day, it's easy to forget that!

my pill has done this exact same thing!!!!
again 1.5 yrs after stopping BFing!
no idea whats caused it x

Hmm I'm not sure.i think it's highly unlikely I fell pregnant as my partner pulls out as well as me being on the pill.although oh noticed my boobs being much bigger and they have been sore but I think this may have been ovulation.
Kaybea that's weird!!maye it's a hormone cycle or something!? I usually have a 5 day period that starts with noticeable cramping then start pretty much straight away and it's heavy enough to fill a tampon once a day for at least three days.this one was three days late and went for two days and was just a smudge and is now done.very odd!

Oh and I had trouble using a tampon like it was really hard to put in.i hope there's nothing else wrong :-/ I think it may be Pap smear time
