I'm always on this website but just never made an account, so today was the day.
This is me and my bf's 1st month REALLY ttc. In November, we decided we were going to try but it was past OD:dohh:

NOW: I have a 26 day cycle (for the last 3 months) I'm on cd20 - LMP 11/28/15 - Next AF should be 12/23/15-
~ But sadly, I can NEVER tell when I ovulate:nope: Every calendar says I should've ovulated this month somewhere from cd9-cd15... Yet around those days I don't think I got any ewcm at all. Now, my bf & I did think we saw ewcm on cd18 in the evening and we did bd but the ewcm was gone by the morning, is that normal?
If I did ovulate, why was it so short? & is it bad that, that would mean my LP is only 9/10 days long? Is it even possible to get pg with that short of a LP? HELP!

I get so crazy during my 2ww!!!! I always feel like i'm getting symptoms but then, I always get AF or a BFN... I'm hopeful this month because we did a lot of bd'ing (sorry, tmi) on all the "important" days!:winkwink:

I'm testing on christmas!

Hmmm have you tried using OPKs (Ovulation Predictor Kits)? Calenders aren't very accurate and can only give you a general idea of when you O (O = ovulate/ovulation) based on your cycle length. I don't think CM is very precise either. So maybe buy some OPKs? I know some swear to temping to pinpoint O although I may not be the best to help you start as I only tried it for 3-4 months a long time ago and I don't think I was doing it 100% correctly anyway:shrug: You'd be looking for a clear temp shift between your pre-O temps and your after O temps. But it can only tell you when and if you O, it's not very useful for predicting O.

FYI it can take up to 1 year to conceive and still be considered within the norm. You also have a 15-20% chance each month of conceiving no matter how often or little you BD.

Also I wouldn't symptom spot, it'll just drive you nuts, especially if you've recently stopped e.g. BCP. PMS and pregnancy symptoms are often super similiar and most can't tell the difference, unless you've been pregnant before maybe.

I just bought some OPKs yesterday, so that if this cycle fails, next cycle I can be precise.
Do you think temping works?

Sounds good:thumbup: Hope you end up not needing them though:winkwink:

Hmmm I don't feel I got anything out of doing it (plus found it stressful, hence why I stopped) but lots of ladies here say they find it helpful in learning about their cycles:shrug: It depends on who you ask, it's definitely a personal preference and many ladies here do temp and swear that they get a lot out of it. Maybe you could try it for a couple of months and see if it's something you find helpful?

Personally I don't think it helps increase your odds but that's my personal opinion:shrug:

I've also moved on to IVF at this point since my DH and I have been trying for a little over 2 years for baby #1 (I'm 36, he's 38 and we have "unexplained infertility") and have had 6 failed medicated IUI cycles (all BFNs). My 1st IVF resulted in a chemical so will be doing IVF #2 in January and hoping it works next time. So no need for temping anyway.

BTW I forgot to mention that if your under 35 you should seek testing after 1 year of trying and if your over 35 you should seek testing after 6 months.

Hi there.. my love and I have never tried to prevent pregnancy, but have also never had a successful pregnancy... after 16 yrs together it's a lil discouraging, but we are still hopeful... I am very leery about "actively" TTC because I hear that it can make things stressful and well harder to conceive.. What do you ladies think? I track my ovulation and cycle but other than that nothing (no temping, opk,etc..) We enjoy each other very much so bd is daily for us... but still nothing.. any thoughts, advise?

MsH15-- I am not temping or using opks currently either. and bd is daily for my bf and I as well, but it is only my 2nd cycle ttc #1.

Looking for any advice anyone can give me as well..

mommy_atHEART we had an ectopic almost two years ago and have been trying since my recovery from a tubal removal. Only advise I can offer, don't get discouraged or stressed.. I'm just trying to continue enjoying my love and leaving the rest up to timing and God. Best wished to you and I'll be send prayers up and good vibes your way! Good Luck... And please keep posting your progress and challenges and I will do the same. Maybe something we experience can help each other.

MsH15 Best wishes to you!!!<3:hugs::hugs::hugs:
I think the best thing you can do is try not to stress and just enjoy your loved one!!!

I have been having ewcm but its already cd21 and i'm expecting my period in 7 days.. Pretty sure ovulation has already taken place, any ideas why i would still see ewcm?

Pretty sure that could be a good sign as CM increases with conception *fingers crossed*

Opks are great for figuring out when you're about to ovulate. The thing is, you can have a positive opk (indicates an LH surge), but then not ovulate for a number of reasons. Which means you night think you timed Bd'ing well, but surprise, you O'd a week later when you've stopped using opks.

Temping doesn't help you predict O, but it DOES confirm ovulation happened. It's really the only way other than ultrasound. It can also help you figure out when after a positive opk you ovulate. It can be anywhere from 12 to 48 hours later and with the narrow fertile window, this is key information.

Your basal temp will jump and stay elevated after O. That's the perk of temping. Knowing you ovulated and being able to compare your bd timing with your O date :) Plus it can show you when AF might be coming because your Temps will likely start to fall again just before.

Plus a triphasic pattern usually indicates pregnancy, but most woman can't wait long enough ;) POAS works better for that lol

I have so much to write on this post lol.

Firstly, temping is great. It lets me know that I actually ovulate. It is very annoying, don't get me wrong but I stand by it and use it every cycle along with OPKs

OPKs are great for telling you that you are gearing up to possibly ovulate. When used together with temping you can get a clear indication that you are gearing up to ovulate and then the temping will confirm that you actually did.

Cervical mucus and position are another story. You can have EWCM numerous times throughout your cycle. It happens with a rise in estrogen that usually happens before ovulation but some women notice it at other times.

If you are having trouble finding cervical mucus and you are waiting for it to show up on your underwear, I recommend that you go "looking" for it. There are instructions online about how to find cm so I will spare you the details as it can be tmi.

I personally check cm and cp, temp and use OPKs but it depends on how involved you want to be. I want to feel like I have control so I use all of these things to make it feel like I do, even though I know deep down that I don't have control at all.

I started trying in August with nothing but an app. When it didn't happen that cycle, I added OPKs, when it didn't happen the 2nd cycle, I added temping and checking cm and cp (cervical position) and here I am, still trying.

I feel like a TTC veteran even though I've only been trying for 5 months but this journey can make you crazy and do a lot of research.

Hope this helps!

Good Morning Ladies, hope all had a GREAT weekend. Mine was amazing. Just enjoyed some down time with my love... First weekend in a long time we haven't been running non-stop... It was GREAT! :0)

*Baby Dust* to all this beautiful morning and have a blessed day!

Trr thank you for your advice and insight!

I will be adding OPKS and temping in my next cycle, if AF shows her face...

AF is due in 3 days..
My breats/nipples don't exactly hurt?? Would anyone know what I meant if I said they feel "different"? Also, they are definitely changing colors.. Yesterday right around the nipple there was like pink-ish/white circle and then the rest was lighter than usual..
I don't really feel any different, but not everyone really will I imagine.

I just want whatever is going to happen to hurry up! If AF is going to show, I'm just ready to start trying again! :haha::haha:

I'll test the day after christmas

I def understand when you say "they feel different" Are they ultra sensitive? Like, your arm brushes against your bra and BAM, your nipple(s) are hard?
I'm in my ovulation window now and BD'ing daily like normal.. We aren't putting any stressing on it at all. We are hopeful and aware (for lack of better words) but no pressure or stress. Just enjoying the journey... So *fingers crossed* to both of us. :0)

It kind of feels like the beginning of when your not wearing a bra with a certain shirt, and your nipples are starting to rub the wrong way...
& yes they are getting hard easily,
They just feel different..

BD like crazy! Good luck msH15 :happydance::baby:

Hopefully we both get our BFPs!
Are you going to test or wait for AF?:hugs::hugs:

mommy_atHEART Oh yes, good sign I would say. :happydance:

I think I'm going to wait it out... :coffee: well at least until I get anxious. lol  What about you? Are you going to test or wait? Any other signs or symptoms?

Either way sending lots of :dust: and good vibes your way! GL keep me posted!

msH15 --
I'm trying to wait until I'm late! But I am dying to test, ill probably wait though.

I have no other symptoms or signs, that i've noticed besides that when I have to go to the restroom, its always an emergency (like i've been holding it, but I'm not) but I don't think I've been going more frequently...
