Hi there.. my love and I have never tried to prevent pregnancy, but have also never had a successful pregnancy... after 16 yrs together it's a lil discouraging, but we are still hopeful... I am very leery about "actively" TTC because I hear that it can make things stressful and well harder to conceive.. What do you ladies think? I track my ovulation and cycle but other than that nothing (no temping, opk,etc..) We enjoy each other very much so bd is daily for us... but still nothing.. any thoughts, advise?

Hey there! After 16 years with no prevention I would definitely be concerned that you have not had a pregnancy, not trying to scare you. Even though you weren't trying, if you had frequent sex odds are that you would have had a pregnancy by now. I have been with my partner for 12 years and we have always been very careful about prevention until we started ttc 7 months ago and have never had an accidental pregnancy. If I were you I would immediately make an apt with your OBGYN. Your man may want to get a semen analysis as well to make sure his swimmers are in good shape. Again, not to scare you but you just want to make sure everything is in good health.

mommy_atHEART we had an ectopic almost two years ago and have been trying since my recovery from a tubal removal. Only advise I can offer, don't get discouraged or stressed.. I'm just trying to continue enjoying my love and leaving the rest up to timing and God. Best wished to you and I'll be send prayers up and good vibes your way! Good Luck... And please keep posting your progress and challenges and I will do the same. Maybe something we experience can help each other.

So sorry about the ectopic. I should have read through the whole series of posts before posting my first response. You have had a pregnancy, even though it wasn't successful means that you were fertile and your guy had good swimmers. You still may want to make an apt with your GYN to get checked out. You have a really casual approach and if you and your guy are in optimal health and want to continue with this approach then that's great. BUT if there is something going on that will make it difficult for you to conceive again then you will probably want to know so you can come up with a game plan. Good luck!

2ducks - thanks for the advise. I actually did a few months of acupuncture after the ectopic to regulate my cycles again. It def helped and my acupuncturist and PCP actually referred me to same OB/GYN friend who specializes in fertility. I have my annual well woman scheduled with her next week. The OB/GYNs who performed my tubal removal ensured me that they did not find/see any other blockages and my ovaries, uterus, cervix and remaining tube all look great. So I will tell the new specialist all of that and ask her for some more help and maybe see if we can check my hormones. Just to make sure. My casual approach is mainly due to my fear of disappointment. We have dreamed of this for so long and was heartbroken when we found out about the ectopic. But we are confident and maintain faith that it WILL happen when it's time. But I def agree that I need to get checked to make sure there are no other factors that may need attention. Thank you so much for your help and advise. Merry Christmas and Happy Baby-making!
:dust: and good luck to you!

mommy_atHEART - I would def retest. How are you feeling, other than the slight cramps?

Normal honestly! I feel fine..

I just hope AF stays far away from me?

How was O day for you??
What cd are you on?

mommy_atHEART - Well normal is ok... And maybe the holidays are helping keep your mind occupied a lil. I tend to hunt for symptoms which I know is horrible... But hey, what can I say, I'm guilty  LOL
Sorry if this is TMI, but girl, I just can't seem to get enough of my love lately, so O day and every other day this week has been amazing. Hoping this will be the lucky cycle. I'm on CD21 and have my well woman on CD28. my cycles are generally about 32-33 days.. So *fingers crossed*
