Anyone on clomid who does ovulate and has regular cycle?

I am on clomid but do ov and do have a regular cycle. I was prescribed clomid to try to stimulate ov from the good side having had a tube removed due to an ectopic.


Anyone in a similar position or had a good result?

I am about to start Clomid on Monday...I do ovulate and have a regular cycle. My FS thinks it will help due to having endo (makes me release eggs before they are mature) and some mild male factor (hubby has a count of 21 million). I'm excited and hoping this will do the trick for us!

Hi Crypto,
Yes, I'm in a similar position- I do ovulate regularly, but I've been ttc for almost a year and haven't gotten a bfp (also I'm 38), so the FS suggested clomid and IUI to improve the chances. So far I've had one month where I had several follicles but bfn, and now I'm on round two of clomid (just had the IUI a few days ago). I'm hoping clomid will give me that boost that I need!
There's also a thread that was up for unexplained infertility, and a lot of those ladies ovulate but are put on clomid, so that may be worth looking at.

you are lucky..my specialist won't give me anything! Put me straight on the IVF waiting list...DH is OK towards the low end but still OK, I ovulate regularly and on time but I quite possibly have endo ( they found an endometrioma but I won't let them do a lap). I've got an appointment on the 30th of September so I'll ask her....I don't undrestand why they give it to most people but won't even consider me!!!!At least I need to know why!

I had an awful gp who wouldnt refer me for IVF so I switched to a gp who has an interest in fertility and she is great. Anything she can do in primnary care she will before passing it over to the hospital. There are way too many inconsistencies in protocol in fertility!

Thanks Crypto1976! I'll deffo ask why. They are convinced that i ovulate (blood tests and they monitored on ultrasounds) and my own opk and cm observation and consistent with this, but i still want to know why they wouldn't give me clomid if it could help. The ivf list in the london area is long so i'm thinking of attempting a private iui while we wait, but why waste my money if clomid could help! Surely they could put me on it for a couple of months to try..... this is soooo frustrating!

If the gp wont give you a prescription, you might be able to get a private one. I have a friend in the same situation as me whose gp wouldnt and she got a private prescription. Its way less costly than ICI or IVF.

I also looked at egg share IVF, not sure if it would be of interest, I have not decided yet, but there was no waiting list to have ivf that way, although I accept its not everyones cup of tea.

I am also looking at having IVF done in norway next spring/summer. Its way cheaper and the success rates are good.

Its good to look at all the options. XXX

Good idea. I'll ask why they aren't prescribing it to me and take it from there. I don't think the egg share is for me to be honest..... But as you say, people are different. I also looked a various options abroad...just somehow hoping to conceive before that..... we are on month 22 and I'm on day 22 ;-) xxx

Yes I am not sure about egg share either. I think I will be dipping into the savings before that....!
