anyone sad when they get nothing for v day?

I'm going to give DH his card with dinner and if he didn't get me one I'm going to be a little grumpy. We never do gifts though and take turns cooking each other a nice dinner each year.

Hubby always tries to cash in on it and my stance is the same. No vday stuff, no "steak and a BJ" day stuff either I tell him that we don't need a made up holiday to do stuff like that.

Generally speaking he's not very impressed.

I just kind of distract him from all social media and he almost always forgets

Well dammit, he came home with snacks and a bottle of shiraz. There goes my free pass on Steak and a BJ night!

actually, i do get disappointed when he makes no effort,but i guess i am used to it (kinda), so i dont make an effort either this year (since i am preggo and not feeling the greatest, i didn't do anything this year for him, last year i made him gifts and made him a nice dinner). but this year, we are preggo, he brings home nothing (not even a card), and he actually went to Twin Peaks (a restaurant known for their waitresses wearing next to nothing, and apparently, it was lingerie night last night, so he went with his boys), plus after he came home he got on his computer and played PC games with his boys all night. so i guess i can say i am disappointed and now pissed lol

Its our anniversary today, the 15th, so we postpone the romantic valentine stuff until today, then we have a nice meal and a movie night . I do get a little sad when everyones doing it the day before though!

Aww its a shame that he didn't get u anything. Dh and I usually discuss if we are both going to bother or not so that one doesn't make an effort without the other. We normally get cards tho. I think we will still do it even when we are old. X

i dont really get anything for any celebration/holiday. He did warn me when we first got together that he was not in the least bit romantic and well he lived up to it.

but to make up for it I go shopping with the credit card and get my self something pretty.

Nope. But we don't 'celebrate' it anyway..

I'd rather he surprise me on any day of the year rather than a commercialised one.
