:hi: all
I am starting these injectables after this current natural cycle (I am cd1 today) but couldnt start them this month because I am going on holiday in 12 days and will not be able to be monitored..

I just wanted to know a little more about the injectables...
Do they hurt??
How did you get on with Hmg?

I will be doing these with a hCG (pregnyl) to cause ovulation...

I have done 4 previous rounds of clomid- I can ovulate on clomid but it thins my lining out too much... So this is the next step for us really and we will have 3 goes on it...

I had a lap & dye/hysteroscopy and ovarian drilling done in january as we have been ttc a long time. They unblocked my tube so now I have two tubes so more of a chance now.

If you would like to know more about me the link to my journal is in my siggy

But yes really I am hoping to have some new injectables buddies and find out more information on it all really... :flower:

I thought I would try posting here as I posted in assisted conception forum yesterday but so far no reply and I am sooooo curious at the moment

I know this is an old post, but I hope it still helps (I tried looking for this when I got on menopur and couldn't find much info).

I should mention that I ovulate on my own, but my estrogen is low (~180 at O) and my lining thin (0.7), so my RE skipped clomid and put me on menopur 37.5 IU. That's a really low dose, but still I ended up taking only 5 injections and my lead follicle was already 2.3cm so I had the HcG shot on day 8 of my cycle and ovulated on day 10. Unfortunately it didn't help my lining but if your problem is not ovulating, then I think this stuff works really well.

The injections themselves are not bad, they sting a bit as you inject. I didn't have a "pen" because of the low dose so I had to actually inject with a syringe, which makes it a bit more scary. I always had my DH there for support :) and I think it helped relax me a bit.

The HcG shot was another story. It didn't hurt injecting, but immediately after I felt like someone punched me in the stomach. I was really sore for 2 days (I couldn't bend over or even touch that area) and it was slightly red. I don't want to freak you out, it's not that bad, I was just scared because I didn't know if it's normal or not. Still don't know, but nothing bad happened so I assume it is :)

I don't know what my RE has in store for me for the next cycle, but I have a feeling it's more injectables.

I really hope injetables work for you!!! It makes it all worth it in the end :)

Thank you for the reply :)
I would have replied sooner but I have been away on holiday...

So hoping mine is the pen as the injection needle one seems scary!!

Hopefully you do not need another cycle of injections! The hcg injections seems horrible!
:dust:

My first round was Menopur.. Wonderful didn't hurt at all and easy to use.. Second round ordered hmg from ivfmeds.. Glass vials were hard to use and had to injected into thigh or hip, which is difficult when dh works out of town five days a week... Finally traded the rest of my hmg for Menopur (love my doctor!) so I am hoping the rest of this cycle will be easy. I am on cd6.. Hope your journey goes smoothly...

:hi: Hun I'm cd21 on Merional (same as Menopur) just going for another scan follows are being slow growers so they upped my dose...

What dose are you taking this cycle???
