Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has tried acupuncture to aid fertility, and if so how you're finding it, or if it worked for you?

I am due to start Clomid next month, and so have booked in for a first session of acupuncture this Friday, in the hope that it helps somehow! I've read good things about it, but wondered if any of you ladies had any advice on it too?

I've heard that as much as the actual treatment, it is a good opportunity to offload a bit to someone who actually understands fertility problems. That in itself is a major plus!

Thanks all XX

Accupunture is amazing Hun I'm having it now to prepare for pregnancy as I've had 7 mc highly recommend it I had a session today x

Hi HayleyJJ,

Thanks for that, glad you think highly of it. You never know when you start these things huh. I'm really looking forward to the first session, am expecting to feel proper chilled out afterwards from what the acupuncturist said. Do you go every week?

Sorry to hear about your mc's, lots of babydust to you x

Yes every week :) I suffer with terrible sickness and its suppose to work wonders so were building up to pregnancy :)

Fab! The acupuncture lady told me that loads of ladies carry on with acupuncture once they get pregnant and that it's amazing for morning sickness. Fingers crossed that it helps with both! x

Whooop whoooop ill be in 2 week wait any day x

Sounds like you've got a fun night planned then ;-)

Fingers crossed for you!

I'm currently in the TWW of my 3rd clomid cycle (50mg).

I also had heard quite a few positive things about acupuncture and just as AF was ending started my 1st session (CD5). I continued with acu until I ovulated.

I found it so relaxing and peaceful....i would definitely recommend it. And if you are going to specific fertility acu they can work with your fertility treatments and help with specific issues.

hoping i get my bfp:flower:

Hi BusyBee,

I've tried acupuncture for pain management and am now trying it to help me with my first IUI cycle. So far it has really helped me relax. The one I see specializes in fertility and has walls of baby pictures to prove it. I hear it really does work. Best of luck to you!

Hi Breaking Dawn and Conceive81

Thanks both for your experiences with acu, it all sounds really positive!

Really really hope it works for you - how amazing would it be if it helped get that BFP :)

My SIL had acupuncture when she was diagnosed with PCOS, and the acupuncturist said that every time she went she could feel the points in her stomach grabbing onto the pins tighter and tighter, which when she first started it didn't do at all. She had treatments for 3 months and then was told she didn't need it any more as her paths, or whatever it is, had cleared - and one month later she got her BFP! This story makes me very hopeful.

Got the first session tonight and planning to do noooooothing afterwards but relax :)

Fingers crossed that acupuncture is the answer!

Just thought I'd give you my two cents - I started doing acupuncture in January. I wanted to get help with regulating my cycle and I heard that it's great for fluid balance and stress and so I figured why not? Anyway, my cycle went from 40d (post-bcp) to 30 days and my digestion and skin have improved tremendously.

Also - my acupuncturist's wife is also going through ttc and had had two mc's at 6w2d. She started acu and a fertility diet (no gluten, high fat dairy, etc). Yesterday he told me they're 14wks preggo with twins! So how's THAT for proof lol :)

Best of luck to you!

I love hearing success stories it's lovely :)

Hi i have hear good things too, the lady i am using also specialises in fertility. i am going once a week and have just had 2 sessions so far. I feel much more relaxed and also can tell her everything that is happening so much easier to talk from some of TMI with her than struggling to find some one else to talk too, as it is very private. I also have longer cycles from 30-36 days this month i had a positive opk on day 14 which is the first time in ages.

I have also found going for a deep massage the week before I ovulated really helps, plus stopped drinking all togther on xmas day, it seems to be regulated my cycles, not that i drank that much but there are a few things you can try as each person is different

good luck - lets keep updating how we get on take care all

Hi,

I started acupuncture four months ago, we found out we needed ICSI and we were referred so I thought I'd give it a go.

After my first session I was so spaced out and I then slept for a full 16 hours straight. My acupuncturist also had ICSI and used acupuncture to support her treatment and she has a little girl. I know it won't just be the acupuncture but I genuinely believe it works, I feel so good after and that can only be a good thing!

Gx

Love love LOVE these stories ladies they are all so positive!

I'm officially in the acupuncture club now too, first session was great, found it very relaxing and so interesting too. Felt fine when I left, and then 2 hours later I dropped off into THE deepest, most cosiest sleep - I couldn't even muster the energy to get off the sofa to get into bed! I could have slept there for days I think! I've had a tugging feeling in my right side on and off since and am due to ovulate in the next few days - she told me i'd ovulate from my right side this month. She burnt moxa on me too on my belly to stimulate circulation and blood flow to my ovaries.

I can't wait for the next appointment in 2 weeks time!

Fingers and toes crossed to everyone here trying acupuncture - I have a really good feeling about it, please keep us all updated with how you're getting on, let's turn this thread into one full of BFP's XX
