Anyone tried acupuncture?

Scarlett, she put me on a small dosis of vitex, 1 drop a day (~25 mg). I did some googling and found the sstudy she is basing that on. So i am happy to take my one drop a day.

291 - I'm with Hayley, just ring around and see who you like and what they say. I started on CD5, but I'll be going on Tuesday again for CD13 so now may be a good time for you also? I paid £50 for first session and will pay £35 from now on

Morasmum - I've heard really good things about vitex and bought some agnus castus myself, but my accupuncturist asked me to take the stuff she's given me instead. I guess they're all going to be different and work with a different approach.

I've finally started temping and also bought some opks so hoping I'll be able to see if it's helped me really soon!

Fingers crossed for some more BFPs from acupuncture really soon!!

291 i started last cycle right befor ovulation, give them a ring and see what they say.

Just back from (acu cycle 2) cd1 session: 5 on my abdomen, 2 on my knees, hands, wrists, ankles and feet and 1 on my chest

Cycle 6, bring it on!!!!!!

Had my second session tonight and feel soooo relaxed, think I'll sleep well tonight! Just so hoping I O this month finally, my acupuncturist thinks I will in the new few days so am keeping nearly everything crossed

Hi ladies, I just wanted to jump in here because I noticed this thread and just had my first acupuncture session today! My lady was super calm and soothing and reassured me that I will be a mom and that I should enjoy the time left while I'm not. Very nice to hear! I think she put in a total of 5 needles in my foot, leg, stomach and hand. I'm slated to O in the next day or so and will be back for session #2 next week. Fingers crossed for us all!

Gabby! That was really lovely what your lady said, and good point about enjoying the time now! Guess when all we can think of is we forget about stuff like that! What made you decide to give acupuncture a go?

hi all i have found accuputure really helpful in terms of relaxation and also being able to speak to someone about what is going on each week. The person I go too specialises in fertility and went through it herself with her first baby so emotionally she is also aligned I think this helps.

I have been going 6 weeks and had my first text book cycle last week i havent had 28 day cycle for over 2 years normally 32-37 but varies each month. I have also been put on floradix which is to support the blood flow to all the right places. I am also reducing the amount of stress i put on myself less personal arrangements with family and friends, as often we end up hosting and it takes up all my weeks and stuff. I am also having massages for the first 2 weeks of each cycle.

Glad you are enjoyoing, will keep you posted with how each of the sessions are going

Hi Scarlett! It really was a nice reminder. She mentioned she has a 2 year old and I guess the perspective really was great to hear. She also mentioned that it was really important for me not to get too bogged down with ttc and other people's stuff. I can definitely get obsessive and like you mentioned, it's easy to forget the bigger picture!

I actually started because I have some monthly pre-flow spotting that starts around 5-6 days before my actual period each month so that even though O, cycle and luteal phase are all normal I really felt like that was the problem. My GP suggested the acupuncturist, who is actually a part of the medical group I go to so I figured it was worth a shot. I then started reading all the great success stories on the internet (and found this thread) and so here I am!

Looking forward to hearing more from everyone as we continue on the process and all get our !!

Hayley, woohoo for the water!

I had my 2nd session for the cycle (cd7), i noticed that she put needles over my uterus but not over my ovaries and no hot lamp this time.
My next appointment will be when my cm starts changing.

One thing i noticed is that my af went from 4 days with 1 heavy flow day, to 3 days medium flow + 1 day spotting. She said this was good because it was a more "efficient" bleed ... Uhmmmmm i don't know what to think about that (....BS!.....) i asked dr google but no definite answer came up and ican't be sure if the change is accu related, so i guess time will tell.

Smurfy! And YAY on your 28 cycle, you must be so pleased! And you’re so right about the stress, I need to learn to start saying NO to people and putting myself first a bit more. Where abouts are you in your cycle now?

Gabby – really hope that acupuncture helps you with the spotting – and of course your BFP!! How long have you been ttc for?

Wow Hayley that’s amazing! Pleased you had a good session  are you going to keep going through your pregnancy?

Morasmum – I defo had more EWCM this cycle so fingers crossed for you and be interesting to see if you think it’s made a difference. Also stronger O cramps, and even noticed my (.)(.) felt tender for the first time ever!! Sadly I still don’t think I O’d Opks all negative (using the clearblue digital ones so surely I can’t have messed them up?!) but am temping so guess I’ll know for sure in a couple of days.
