My dr has suggested I look into charting with the Creighton method....anyone done this? I'm looking it up online, but have no idea what the colors and pictures mean on the charts.

Isn't that the one where you just check CM and don't take temps into account? That's what I think I remember from reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility It means you can tell when you may ovulate but it's harder to tell that you have ovulated.

Hi there - I know this is an old thread, but I thought I would reply anyway just in case you were still looking for an answer :flower:

I use the Creighton Model of charting and it's basically a system to classify your CM. It's used both by couples trying to achieve pregnancy and those trying to prevent it. The colors of the stickers are as follows:
Red - Days of bleeding or spotting
Green - Days of infertility or dry days (green is a 'Go' for sex - for those using Creighton Model as birth control)
White "Baby" - Days of fertility (CM can be lifted off the tissue and stretched at least 1/4")
Green "Baby" - Days of fertiility (within a count of 3 days from EWCM peak mucus)

This is just a tiny bit of the system, just enough to make some sense of the charts you might be seeing. I have been using it for a year to chart and understand my cycles better and am just switching over this month to using it to achieve pregnancy.

Let me know if you want to know anything more about it!

Just checking CM is NOT a good way to know when you're ovulating. You can get EWCM all throughout your cycle even after ovulation because of random estrogen surges. CM changes all throughout your cycle, sometimes for no reason. I suggest you use OPKs and/or chart BBT to know when you ovulate :flower:

This is true. The "days of fertility" are more like "potential days of fertility". Most people would ov during that time, but definitely your peak mucus day doesn't necessarily line up with ov. I am using OPKs as well as the Creighton Model and actually found out I ov 2 days before my peak, so I would have potentially missed it had I gone by just peak CM!
