My LO comes up in little spots eczema from time to time but with a bit of e45 it goes again!

This time she has quite a few patches come up, on her arms and legs and back of her neck. Its worse on the backs of her knees and elbows and shes started to scratch it and make it sore.

I just bought some oilatum for her bath? Is it any good and what do you do about them drinking it?

Hopefully its not just my toddler that drinks the bath water and sucks the flannel?? :haha:

I thought it was oilatum that we use, it's not its e45 junior. Similar I guess. I found since we swapped from Johnsons baby his skin has been much better. He only ever had mild eczema anyway. My Lo actually doesn't drink the bath water or suck his flannel! But there must be others that do! And if he did I wouldn't be worried

We use this and so far no ill effects and both boys drink alot if bath water every night :)

For the patches of ezcema, try lanisoh or Palmers Bottom Butter. Works wonders for DS2s ezcema.

I use Aveeno Bath & Shower oil in the bath (to clean him & used in the water).

Same here, we use it and no ill effects, and my DS has a habit of drinking bath water!!! (Yuk!!) x

We use this. Ciara had a mild dose of eczema a while ago, it hasn't returned since using this and the Oilatum lotion afterwards. And yes she eats the flannel! No ill effects yet

Yep my LO always sucks the flannel.. Gross! No ill effects that I've noticed!

I found oilatum great, that and the double base gel keep her eczema under control  just be extra careful in the bath cause it can make it quite slippery and my LO sometimes slips if she's not careful.

Thanks ladies! It's a relief to hear she can still flannel suck as that's what keeps her occupied whilst I was her hair! Lol!

I seen they also sell a oilatum cream when I was in tesco, anyone use this?

Lindseymw, do You mean lanisoh the nipple cream? Or am I thinking of something completely different? Lol!

Yeah the nipple cream. I just rub a bit on the flared up areas. I'd say the Bottom Butter is better though.

I've just bought some of the nipple cream so will put that on it this morning! Will google the bottom butter and see where to get that!
If it doesn't clear I will take her down the docs just would prefer to clear it myself as I suffered with it as a child and became quite reliant on prescribed creams to keep it away so would prefer not to start with them if I can help it!

We use this as LO had discoid eczema and it keeps trying to come back. I works really good for us but we have to use diprobase throughout the day aswel as oilatum in the bath. Don't remember Oakley ever drinking any bath water but I'm sure it'll be fine, it's very diluted in the bath anyway so they're probs only ever swallowing a tiny amount.

You can get Palmers Bottom Butter from Boots (assuming you're from uk? on my phone so cant see location).

We have Aveeno Moisturiser & Aveeno Oil on prescription, which are generally good at keeping it at bay. We have the hydracortizone (sp?) cream prescribed too but this didn't make a difference whatsoever.
