Hello all, my name is Nicola and i'm 10+3 weeks pregnant and keep waking up between 3am and 4am every morning!! Its killing me with tiredness. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing??
Thanks

I do wake but only to go to bathroom! Luckily i sleep walk!

3am -4am is when your blood sugar levels drop the most, have some fruit or something before bed if you can, it may work....

Yeah, I only wake to pee now, rather annoying but has to be done :haha:.
xoxox

I wake up everyday at about 3:55am. I hate it! I normally eat 3 crackers and a glass of water and fall asleep again. I also wake up several times to pee... but I walk through the house like a zombie!

Yep! Me too... I woke up every morning at 3am (ish) during my first pregnancy also, not necessarily to pee, but just woke up for no reason and struggled to go back to sleep... same is happening with this pregnancy, then I am shattered in the morning! Not fair!

does anyone know if this is associated with diabetes. Prior to getting pregnant I was put on metformin because of slightly above average insulin levels (not diabetic). I was taken off my meds to see if my insulin levels have normalized... i also lost 19 pounds. I guess I am just wondering if this is a red flag... I don't see my doc for another 2 weeks.

This is normal for me when not pregnant. I always woke up for about 30 minutes to 2 hours in the early morning hours somewhere between 3-6am. Oddly, it's all completely changed since I got pregnant, and now I sleep through the night every night (with the exception of getting up to pee 1-2 times, also normal for me pre-pregnancy though). I think being pregnant throws you for a loop and you achieve a new normal. I'm glad mine is letting me sleep a bit now, it's a really nice change, but I anticipate it may come back later on when I get a bit less comfortable. I've always found that reading in the middle of the night helped me to fall back asleep faster (I mostly read the news on my phone so don't even turn on the light). It might be worth trying. It kept me from just stressing about not sleeping which didn't help any.

So gladiam not the only one! I struggle to get back to sleep but of course always finally manage to drop off again just before 7am when it's time to get my 10 month old up! I had forgotten what lack of sleep felt like!!

Me. That seems to be my "gotta pee" window. It really REALLY stinks for me too because i get up at 4:30 to be to work by 6 (i work full time) so if i am up at 3 I am never able to fall back sleep. If I by chance have to pee before 3am I seem to be able to fall right back to sleep without a problem. I'm really struggling with this. Somedays I am so exhausted after work I want to pull over onthe drive home and sleep. I find that if i nap when i get home though i sleep even less at night. It's no fun....

I have that! Between 3 and 4 I'm awake. Not even to pee...just wake up..but I can usually fall eight back to sleep. I hate it though!

I know I have been - every night this seems to be my gotta pee time, even though I go right before bed. I always slept through the night pre-pregnancy, but at least I can go back to sleep for a couple hours before my 6am alarm

I've been waking up around 4:30 or 5 and unable to get back to sleep until about 6. This is not cool since I have to get up at 6:30 in order to go to work. It was easier before my DH was transferred and was getting up at 5:30 to work. Now he doesn't have to get up until 8. Lucky bum! Thankfully I can come home around 3:30 or 4 and catch a quick nap before DH comes home.

I am also waking up between 3 - 4 am to go pee then once I go back to bed I am wide awake. So frustrating! :(

I wake up around then too! I usually take the opportunity to pee and I'm guessing this waking time won't be going away for a while so I'm embracing it! The moon looks lovely at that time lol

I wake up every morning at 3-4am feeling so sick. It takes about an hour for me to fall asleep again. I am so glad it's not just me that feels like this. I am 9 weeks along and really hoping this will stop after the first trimester but by the sounds if things it could be here to stay. :dohh:

Sounds like a pretty popular time then! I wake every morning at around 3:30 to pee. I normally get back to sleep pretty easily.... But only for about 2-3 hours. I always wake between 5:20-6:20 and have to get up as I can't get back to sleep. It sucks. The days I work, my alarm goes off at 5:20... It's not fair that on my days off that I still can't sleep in. Oh well, better get used to it I spose. X

did today and was UP! but after forcing myself to go back to sleep couldnt bare the thought of getting up at 7! so layed in bed with my littleones on top of me until 9am- lol

my dr advised me to take gravol because for weeks i was waking up all night and couldn't get back to sleep i was exhausted and with a 3 year old I couldn't even nap all day it was aweful I felt like a zombie walking around. I take one gravol and it works for 4 hours I seem to be able to somewhat get back to sleep after I pee so it may be getting better. Apparently all the hormones can do that to you though I never had an issue in my first pregnancy doc thinks this ones a girl lol

Yes, always around 4.30 am I really have to pee!

This time though, it was due to a noisy toy in my son's room that went off and I had to take out the batteries because it wouldn't shut off!

I've been doing this since 10 weeks and still do, wake up between 3-4 am. DH read in a baby magazine that there is a hormone that makes preggo women wake up during that time and not be able to go to sleep.

It's almost like our body is training us to wake up for early morning feedings... lol
